Vehicle Detail

This is a very dependable camper. It is 85% original paint and could use a paint job if you want to show it. I used it as it was designed -to go out and camp, so I only fixed and painted the rust. That's right, it is rust free now. Well, there's some surface rust I painted from the drip rail up when I put a new tent on it. I put up pics of the worst of the surface rust. I know pictures can make these old vehicles look great. I don't want any hidden "issues" to taint an otherwise great buy! We put a new tent on it. I sourced a lot of extra material and still have a bunch left- it goes with the bus. If you know anything about orange Westy's, you know the orange plaid is the only one that never got reproduced. All the seats look great besides the drivers. It could use another recovering (plenty of matrial for that and more. The top bunk is perfect ('74 is the first year for a full-sized bed up top). It has the complete interior. The pics don't show the fridge/stove because I have an Engle fridge I use with the solar panel. We always cook outside and I put a quick disconnect on the updated propane tank. It also has the connection inside the bus for the original stove if you want to use it as VW intended. The original fridge is working everyday in my shop. It does go with the deal. We put a 3/4" 3-color bamboo floor in it. Way better for camping than carpet! I have some extra of that, too. It goes with the deal. I have the original AC unit (not the compressor, but everything else). There's a pic of it in the link I'm going to give (it's the third pic on page 1- ). It fits on the sink cabinet behind the drivers seat. I never used it, but kept it. It goes with the deal. The heaters are not hooked up but the are there (they need new cables). '74 heater boxes are tre' expensive and these are in good shape. It has a Uni-Solar 64 watt panel . The charge controller that I installed charges up the acc. battery, then changes over to charge the cranking battery. Engine- balanced 1800cc out of a 914, two dual-throat 36 Dells. Engine has about 15,000 miles on it. I put a 091 (6-rib) transmission in it. It kind of clunks ( doesn't grind) into 2nd but has never given me any problem. The bus gets 20 MPG fully loaded going up and down the Arkansas hills. "Outside the bus" table, original headrests, propane heater for winter . I also have a Reimo tent The tent will go with the deal if it reaches my buy it now price. Here's the link on my build- it's 13 pages long so please take your time and read/look at all of it before asking questions. http://vwrides.com/viewtopic.php?t=347 All in all, a very functional camper. With a paint job a GREAT one. I have a single cab now and plan on getting a pull-behind camper. I have two too many vehicles. This is one of them. I'll be happy to answer any questions (I know I forgot sumptin'). There's is no hurry to pick it up if you have to make arrangements. It is under a cover and out of my way. Promptness would be appreciated , though. Good luck bidding!
