Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE 1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Convertible. Viking Blue, 116,646 miles, runs excellent. Black interior, bench seat with armrest, automatic trans on column, power disc brakes. 2 barrel carb. The car is very presentable but does need work to be perfect. The paint is mostly original except for the quarter panels and even has the original painted white triple pinstripe from new. When they painted the quarters they taped off the pinstripe, but the color is not an exact match to the rest of the car. Even so, I am sure by now not many '72 cutlasses have original paint. Overall the rust is not too bad for a 39 year old convertible The wheel arch on the passenger side has some bubbling, the drivers side, not really any. There was work done to the lower quarters on both sides, as can be seen in the photos. There appears to have been a patch on the driver side lower fender as well. The front passenger fender looks like it was replaced at some point; no rust on that one but there is a tweak in front of the front wheel on that fender. Floors, trunk and frame are solid. Plastic stone shield and grills in front are cracked, and shake around a bit. Interior needs carpet. The former owner cut a hole in the dash for a big stereo, so there is a hole there. Windshield has a small chip. The car has a sport steering wheel, PS, PB, NO A/C. Correct Rally wheels with the bolt-on center caps. Original Oldsmobile floor mats. Convertible top is old, has a small tear on one side, and thought the motor for the top and switch work, there is a leak in the line so you must put the top up and down by hand. The remedy for that is a kit of new hoses, about $110.00. I usually leave the top down all summer and put it back up in the fall. Black boot is included. When I got the car it had drum brakes and no reverse. I converted to disc brakes from a parts car, rebuilt the front end and swapped the trans from the parts car to this one so the front end is nice and tight with new springs bushings and ball joints. The transmission leaks when sitting for long periods. And, if you want it, you can have the original transmission which I saved. Also included with the sale, is an entire black lower dash, gas tank, windshield, stone shield, NOS grills, carpet set and a car cover. Don't bid if you don't plan to follow through, but be advised that I took off the Paypal deposit option. So if you win the bid and you get here and decide that I did not describe the car accurately, you don't have to buy it.
