Up for auction is a 1981 Chevrolet C7D042 with a rebuilt Detroit diesel. Truck drives well. My father took this on trade for some farm equipment that he had. I have used this truck twice myself and it works pretty well. I really know nothing about these models or types of trucks so I am sure there will be some questions. When I used it I couldn’t figure out how to use the levers on the bucket, so I stayed on the ground and ran the bucket from there. Outriggers work well and everything seemed to work like it should. Truck starts right up and runs great and PTO works great. Engine is 8.2 liter and says remanufactured. The previous owner said it “has less than 100 miles on it”. So I am not sure if it was rebuilt or if they had a reman put in it. After the pto ran a while it seemed to leak some may of been from the outriggers? but I couldn’t tell. It was definitely by the back though. The previous owner drove it 60 miles to here and since then had only been driven twice. The truck is across from menards in West Lafayette on us 52 on the south side of road. I am listing some stuff we don’t use much instead of letting it sit and selling way less than what it should be worth. We have this for sale locally for $4800 and are listing it for what the engine alone is worth. Route 52 Auto is selling this vehicle as is with no warranty and 7% sales tax must be collected.
