Vehicle Detail

Re-listing car after local buyer fell through.1966 Lincoln Continental convertible with suicide doors for sale. The exterior color is a burnt orange with a matching interior color. I bought this car 6 years ago locally from a classic auto dealer and have taken great care of it and driven it often. I have 3 kids and don't have the time to use the car like I should and want to find her a new owner that will enjoy it. The car runs very well, starts up every time and there are no mechanical worries to speak about. There is no rust on the rear quarter panels, the doors or anywhere else on the body of the car. The chrome is in great shape as well with no pitting, only minor scratches from over the years. I'm not sure what the exact milage is as the engine was rebuilt before I got the car but the odometer says 28K. I've had the transmission rebuilt in 2007 and a new water pump installed in 2010 and put a new battery in a few months ago... Other than that, I haven't had to do anything to the car other than routine oil changes etc... The paint job is in fair condition, no rust though but a few chips here and there on the body and the hood has some areas where the clear coat needs work. The current paint job is over the original same matching color so the chips are hardly noticeable to the eye, you may want to repaint it but it is not necessary. The current paint job is over the original paint job and you can still see the original paint when trunk lid is up and when doors are open. There is a small chip on the back left of car that is the worst of them, but there are no bubbles popping up anywhere... the chip is in the pictures of the car provided. There is a rip in the passenger seat in the bench part of the seat, a scratch in the chrome on the side of the front right bumper, the carpet is wearing in a few spots- there is a tear in the carpet in the passenger foot area and there are other minor dings and dents on the car body that is typical of a car 45 years old that has been well cared for and used recreationally with my family only. The top works perfect and has no tears,it could use new weather stripping though, the radio works, the AC blows cool air but I've never used it to be honest. The power seats work great and the power windows all work... although some take their sweet time closing. Really the only thing that doesn't work is the clock on the dash on the passenger side of the car. Everything else works as it should. If you want to paint the car and fix the front passenger seat you would have everything that is needed to be done on the car done, or you could just enjoy it like I have for the last 6 years. I've just had the car tuned up and oil changed so it is ready to be driven right away. I bought the car on a whim looking to enjoy it for awhile and have had a great run with it and am not looking to do anything other than move the car to a new owner who will be able to take care of it. I have set the reserve low so that the car will sell rather than me make a dollar off of it. Any questions please let me know. The car is for sale locally so I am reserving the right to end the auction if a local buyer comes along please keep in mind.
