Vehicle Detail
I am listing this car for a friend who has owned it for many years. I am including the text he sent and it is as follows: For your consideration is my personal car, a 1969 Mustang GT Sportsroof. I have owned this car for years,,and during my ownership it has ALWAYS been sitting in my store in climate control here in Kentucky. It is a true GT,, Buck tag and the included basic Marti Report verifies it as such. I know the car does not have hood pins,, it is Original and was ordered that way (see Marti Report). This car was ordered new at Paul Miller Ford in Lexington Kentucky. They are still in business to this day on New Circle Road there. There is a LOT to tell about how rare and clean this car is,, so "Please",, read the description very carefully and thoroughly. The Body>>>> This Mustang retains it's Original Floors,, they are VERY nice. The torque boxes front and rear are original and very nice,,, no repairs ever. The front rails are MINT. The rear rails at shackles are MINT. The front cowl area is MINT. All four front aprons are beautiful! This car even still has the original battery tray in it, it could use a new one,, but the original would be easy to fix. The firewall at the torque boxes is mint,, and has been seam sealed and undercoated by me to prevent any water penitration. You know how bad they rust there. Not this car! The tail light panel is perfect,, no rust or filler The bumper arms are still as new (they have been bead blasted and are still in bare metal). The steel supports from the valance to the arms are mint. The headlight buckets (Pot Metal) arer MINT,,,, no broken tabs. The chrome trim rings on the outer headlights are NOS Ford. The front fenders are rust free original 69's. They are very nice. The hood is original to the car also,,, no rust, it does have some repairable dents on the front. The surface rust on the hood will come right off. The hood scoop is original,, and the turn signals work fine. The front windshield is new,, I put it in when I first bought the car. The grille is decent. The rear decklid is ultra nice,, with the spoiler. The quarter caps are beautiful,, with zero filler. Notice the picture of the back of the car,,, it speaks volumns to how the car lines up,,, it is perfect. The doors are very solid,, and I did re-skin both of them years ago due to dents,,, they fit VERY good,, and are undercoated and sound deadened with the good ($$$$) undercoating from the special gun.The floors inside have also been undercoated 4 times to preserve them. The interior of the car is Heavily padded and deadened with the Jute padding. It rides like a Cadillac. The rear quarters and wheelhouses were done years ago by me,, done Right,, and seam sealed and undercoated several times to prevent any rust from forming. Look at the Interior,,, this is in the Original style 5WA White Deluxe that is never seen anymore due to it's rarity on any 69 Mustang. The headliner is new,, and fits excellent,,, the blue carpet is still new. The fold down rear seat was installed by me years ago,,, and EVERY piece is there and unmolested. The Tilt-Flyaway column is in VERY nice condition,, I installed it years ago,, and have the vacuum hoses and electrics included with the car. I do believe tilt will need the front canister (available new now),,, a new door switch, and the little "Trico" valve under the hood. The front and rear side marker lights are NOS,, The side "running horses" on the sail panels are still new. The interior sail panel lamps (rounds) arer new,,, as are the white sail panels. The chrome "Boomerangs" at the quarter windows are new. The roofrail weatherstrips are new,, and not glued to death, so they can be reused easily. The "Geartooth" GT gas cap is original to the car,, it needs reconditioned,,but is dead original to the car. This car has had a factory A/C set up from a 69 Grande added to it . The heater box has been resealed,,, and the heater core is new. The function panel below the radio works as it should with the vacuum switch selector. The blower motor and squirrel cage are clean and quiet. The A/C unit has it's original hoses and does need to be recharged. The belt is on the compressor. The Radio in the car is a factory 1969 Mustang unit,,,the "STEREO" light still works on F.M. The doors will need new speakers,,, there are vacant holes for them. The wiring harnesses are in the doors and they are NICE! The White Deluxe door panels are new . The door lights work as they should. The car will need a new dash pad,,,it is the original and cracked. Blue dash pads are finally available and will really set it off. The doors,, hood,,,decklid close as if they were still new. Hood will close with one finger,,as will the doors and deck lid. They line up as new (see pictures). The engine is the original 351,,, it smokes very little on start up (valve seals),, but runs extremely smooth with tons of power. The starter is new,,,and does not grind,,,starts very quietly. The transmission (FMX) needs to be looked at, it leaks somewhat (seals) and for some unknown reason it has lost second gear,,,I don't know why,,,could be the valve body is hung up,,,it has done this within the past two years sitting inside my store. It will shift from first to third. It goes into frive and reverse quickly so I know the pump is ok. The rear end is the stock open 9 inch the car was born with. It is very quiet and does not leak. The tires on the rear are NEW Speedway 500's mounted on chrome styled steels. The tires on the rear have no miles on them at this time. The front tires are radial TA's, still like new with very few miles on them. The front tires are mounted on Argent wheels. I forgot to mention that the shock towers are perfect,, no torch marks and zero rust. They are straight as new also. The 351 has been converted to Duraspark ignition. It starts excellent. I did install years ago an Eldelbrock Performer intake and carb for reliability. It runs really nice. The breather is original to the car best I can tell. The buck tag is still on the core support also. The car has 69 power disk brakes also. The rocker panel on the driver's side has some road rash from a curb years ago and will need repair (see picture). It will need the 'MUSTANG" on the deck lid and fenders as well as new door handles at time of paint. The deck lid has been "heavily" undercoated inside to preserve it. I have converted the door glass to the 70 bolt-in style,,, the left door is done but the right door is not. It needs a regulator and the "PLATES" for the window to finish it out. I do have the window. If the winning bidder has these parts, I can install them prior to transport. Nearly forgot to mention that the radiator is new. The engine was pulled a few years back to verify the originality and cleaned, painted and re-gasketed. It does not leak oil. The power steering works as new and doesn't leak. You can turn the wheel with one finger. Also, the radiator and heater hoses are not cheap generics, they are the right ones for the car. This cars runs fine, no overheating issues. The block is standard bore,,has never been machined and holds good oil pressure. The oil pump is also new and the engine runs very quiet but with the distinct 1969 sound of a 351 Windsor. Now in closing,,,Let me say this about myself,,, I have owned many,,many 69-70 Mustangs since the late 70's. Never have I Ever had a Sprtsroof this solid and with a color combination to kill for!! I did add a "TOYS" to the option list,,, but they were from my collection since the 70's and unobtainium in this condition in the year 2011. This car Deserves to be on a rotisserie,,,the bottom of the pans blasted,,and a show car resto done. I forgot to mention that in the trunk you will find mint floors,,,new gas tank and a SPACESAVER spare with the "small" hole (not Granada),, and the spare has NEVER been pumped up or on the road,,,it still has the titties on it. That goes with the car as it is correct with the fold down rear seat option. You will notice a picture of the new seat covers,, these are from Distinctive,,,they are the CORRECT VENTED Comfortweave,,not the "EMBOSSED Pattern" on the market now. I bought these years ago and have remained new in the box and go with the car. The V.I.N starts as 9F02Hxxxxxx. I have the Kentucky Title in my name,, it is clean. The data plate is still on the door,,, see the Marti report for it's data. I bought this car years ago from a guy in Wilmore Kentucky, near Lexington,, and Lexington is a HUGE Blue and White Kentucky Wildcats area,,, and I definitely suspect this has something to do with this car's rare color combo. The report shows it to be one of ONLY 166 Sportsroofs made like it in 1969,,,this is not counting the "GT" rarity. I firmly believe, if you got the Elite report on it,,, it would come back as a one-of-one 69 GT Sportsroof. But I'm not for sure, I just have basic on it now,, which in itself shows how rare it is just being a Sportsroof. I have set up a special bank account for the car to protect both parties. I am not interested in trades of any kind. It is open to International bidding. The winning bidder is solely resposible to arrange shipping. I will be glad to assist by making the car available to the winning bidder's transporter. The car has a healthy reserve on it due to all the hard work and money I have tied up in it. You would be hard pressed to find another 69 GT like this nowdaysto start with and LOADAED with options. This car even has an Electric trunk lock still in it (needs to be hooked up). Also available to the winning bidder BUT NOT INCLUDED IN THIS AUCTION are the following NOS items... Ultra-Rare NOS 69 Chrome grille that has never been installed, it would definitely make the front of the car "POP", 1 pair of NOS tail light lenses in the box,, and the anodized trim that surrounds the lens that goes behind the gasket. If you have any questions at all, ask them. I am honest,,, nice,,, and I expect the same. Call me at: (502) 722-9900 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. (this is my store # and I will answer it "Marty's Garden") Cell is (502) 338-1218 10 a.m.-7 p.m. EST. I would prefer the car to be trailered,,, to be safe due to it's rarity and being off the road for a couple of years. There is no "Buy-It-Now" price,,, and it is for Sale locally,,, so I reserve the right to end the auction early. Take a good look, think it over,, and bid accordingly. I assure you,, you won't be disappointed,, you know how rare clean 69 Fastbacks are to find these days. Thanks much. Jeff Kaiser,,, Simpsonville Ky. Boy, my hands hurt after typing all of that! Wish I'd paid attention on how to "Cut and paste'! I've known Jeff since the early 80's and I have seen this car many, many times. The only things I would add to the description is that there are some dents in the roof just behind the windshield (please see picture) these are nothing to get excited over as they are easily repaired. This is a great car to start with and I know that Jeff is going to be sorry he let it go. The winning bidder should have the car paid for in full within 7 days unless a prior agreement has been worked out with Jeff. The car will not be released until it is paid for in full and payment has cleared. If you would like to see the car before bidding, please call for an appointment. The car is stored in a climate controlled room and will remain so until winning bidder or his transport takes possession. Ideally, the car should be picked up within 14 days of auction close, however, if more time is needed it could be arranged by mutual agreement by both parties. I have been asked to add the following to the original ad: This car has delay wipers. This set up is actually from a late seventies pickup and is a plug and play addition. It is similar to the 71-73 Mustang style and is located behind the dash instruments. It works as it should and although not correct, it is a very nice addition that is completely hidden from view.
