Vehicle Detail

For your consideration is a 1987 Porsche 944 Turbo (a.k.a. 951). This car came from the factory with some rare performance options as documented in the listing below. The mileage is 96,730 having been extremely well maintained. This Porsche has not been abused. Since I've owned the car I have changed the oil every 3,000 mi with Mobil 1 synthetic 15W-50 (summer) or 10W-30 (winter) and ZDDPlus oil additive and Mobil 1 synthetic gear lube in the transaxle. This car runs extremely strong and handles as only a 951 can. You will not find a better performing sports car for the price. This Porsche is being offered with an extremely low reserve and offers great value for someone who repairs the vehicle or this can be a great candidate for a track car. I have an excellent ebay history due to honest descriptions and fast pay purchases. History: - I purchased this car early in 2008 - The Porsche had a relatively minor body damage to the front right. The unibody forward of the suspension was pushed in slight and the right strut was bent. I had the unibody pulled out and installed a used strut, hood, fender, bumper, headlight, and center panel. After putting the car back together I had it inspected by a Maryland inspection station, which it passed, and I then registered it in MD and received a Clear (unbranded) Title. - In January of 2011, I was rear ended which resulted in the damage currently on the rear of the car. The insurance company considered the car totaled and I retained ownership of the car after the insurance settlement. The insurance company required that the titled be branded in the state of Maryland as "Rebuilt Salvage". The purchaser of this vehicle will be receiving the Maryland "Rebuilt Salvage" title document. - All of the damage to the unibody appears to be aft of the left rear suspension. The car is driveable. I removed the section of exhaust after the catalytic converter because that portion is slightly bent and the exhaust tip is bent almost 90 degrees (I still have these parts). As you can see in the photos, the left rear quarter is pushed forward and buckled some, the driver's side door still opens. The hatched back does not currently open. Factory Options: ( All these options are documented on the vehicles factory production plate ) - BC9, CJ6, C66 - 220: Locking Differential, 40% - 414: External Transmission Oil Cooler - 474: F/R Sport Shocks - 533: Anti-theft Device - 650: Removable Sunroof - 983: F/R Leather Sport Seats Recent mechanical work: - All new water hoses and clamps (September 2010 @ 92,500 mi) - New A/C Compressor, Dryer, Belt, and O-rings (April 2010, 89,500 mi) - New Front/Rear brake rotors (Zimmerman), pads (PBR Metal Masters), hoses, brake fluid, and new front sway bar bushings and mounts (July 2009, 89,000 mi) - New rear tires, Goodyear Eagle F1 DS-G3 245/50/ZR16 (June 2009, 88,700 mi) - Rebuilt DME (October 2008, 82,300 mi) - New power steering pump, reservoir, and belt (July 2008, 79,700 mi) - Distributor cap, rotor, seal, ignition wires and coil, and K&N air filter (June 2008, 78,000 mi) - Both front wheel bearings replaced, timing and balance shaft belts, rollers, and tensioner. Water pump and thermostat. Front and rear Koni adjustable sport shocks. (April 2008, 74,000 mi) Current Mechanical status: The car runs and drives extremely strong. Brake light is on because after the brakes were changed the brake wear indicator wire rubbed on the inside of the wheel until it wore through the wire causing the light to come on (I believe it's a $10 part). Prior to the accident, the Airbag light came on and my Porsche mechanic said it is common for these cars to have worn sensors in the driver’s seat belt latch. Not a big deal to find a good used seat belt latch.
