Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a 1990 Mazda B2200 pickup truck that has a manual 5 speed transmission. This truck is absolutley loaded with extras! As you can see from the photos, it has a very nice contractor's utility bed, insulated aluminum framed fiberglass canopy with side access panels, and a custom heavy-duty lumber rack. It also has a custom rear bumper and tailgate, heavy-duty hitch, and air shocks. When I bought this truck several months ago I was told that it had only 20,000 miles on a complete rebuild, (I have put about 5000 miles on it since I have owned it) which, among other things, included boring the cylinder walls, new pistons and rings, all new bearings, rebuilt head, RV cam, timing belt, and plug wires. At the same time, the mechanic also replaced the following parts: Clutch Radiator Exhaust (2-1/4") Alternator Water pump Battery Weber Redline Carburetor In fact, I was told that the owner had nearly $5,000 invested in the truck and new parts! This does not inlcude labor costs, which would be thousands more. The body of the truck is very solid and in great shape with no rust anywhere that I can find. It also has a very nice, newer JVC CD player with digital AM/FM radio with remote that works great. When I bought it, the engine ran smooth as silk, and the truck was fun to drive. The truck is still fun to drive, but several weeks ago the engine started to run rough, and I thought perhaps it was some kind of timing problem. When I took it in to a local shop that is very reputable, they told me that there was a problem with the valves and that it should have a valve job . They said everything else looked fine. I have the receipt for this work. Up until now I was using it as a daily driver, but the problem is getting worse as time goes on. It runs rough at an idle and when it is cold, but does seem to smooth out considerably on the highway. Although it doesn't look bad, it could use a paint job. The dash light dimmer switch also has a short in it and so the dash lights don't work until you wiggle the switch and then sometimes it will come on for a while. I'm sure it is an easy fix and either needs just a good cleaning or maybe a new switch. I just haven't taken the time to fix it since I drive it during the day most of the time and the instrumentation works great. Sometimes the anti-lock break light comes on, but I'm not sure why. I was told that it is not a big deal and is probably some sort of sensor thing, the brakes seem to work great, and are in good shape and look like they were all new right around the time the truck was rebuilt. The heater works great, along with everything else, except the air conditioning which probably just needs to be recharged. Have the valves done and you'll have a very solid, dependable, classy little truck that is worth much more than I am asking here. I am just too busy to fix it and need to sell it soon. Needless to say, it is also an incredibly versatile utility vehicle that can haul everything from tools, to ladders and lumber. I always get comments at gas stations, construction sites etc. about what a handy looking, great little truck it is. With its 5 speed manual transmission and 4 cylinder engine it will get a lot better mileage than those big full size trucks with utility beds that suck the fuel, yet you can still haul your ladders, tools, lumber etc., plus it has a hitch so you can even tow a trailer with it. I wouldn't sell it, but we use another vehicle most of the time these days and could really use the money right now. I will need a $200 deposit within 24 hours after the auction closes. The truck must be paid for within 7 days and picked up no later than 3 weeks after the auction closes. If you can not meet these terms, please do not bid. If you plan to have it shipped, please research shipping rates before you place your bid. Thanks for viewing this auction!
