Vehicle Detail

1968 AMC Rebel SST Convertible. 290 V8, Automatic, PS/PB, Factory Air. Complete and ready to restore. STARTING BID $800. This car is way too nice to part out. Odometer shows 69976. VIN on the title matches Cowl VIN and VIN tag on the shock tower. Engine tag shows 105H01. Door tag is BODY: R022670 MODEL: 6817-7 TRIM: 876K PAINT:52A SERIAL NUMBER W095978. Last registered in 1979. Nebraska title from 1979 in hand. Mileage shows 69170 on the title dated Dec 1978. I bought it from a guy in Ft. Worth, Texas who bought it from a guy in Arkansas who bought it from a guy in Nebraska. Plates and last registration show 1979 as the last time on the road. The motor is not frozen and turns easily. Look at the pictures, it's all there. Original color is gold. All interior panels seem to be there. Dash is complete with all knobs and gauges. Dash pad not cracked just loose and peeling up in a couple of places. Convertible top complete except for the vinyl. The motor and hydraulics seem to be complete. Replacement left front fender and hood installed at some point. I've had numerous people email me and offer $800-1000 for the car. A couple people seem to think the car has structural issues and would be to expensive to fix. To answer these people I got the grinder out this week and looked for bad places on the car. I've taken pictures of everything so if the 24 on the listing don't answer your question email me for the others I've taken. Drivers floor board is out and the structure underneath is solid as you can see in the pictures. 2 small holes under drivers seat and 1 under passenger seat. The seams between the floorboards and inner fender wells on both sides have about a 2 inch by 4 inch bad spot up under the vents in the kick panels. The inner brace under the passenger back window has a couple of holes where it meets the floor board and the seam on the right side of the trunk where the floor seams into the fender well has rusted through the length. About 18 inches total. Small holes in the outer skin of the drivers door and right front fender. Rockers seem solid the full length except for the hole on the drivers side shown in the pictures. The bad left rear quarter has a nice replacement ready to be put on. All the trim seems to be here except for the Rebel emblems on the left front fender, the hubcaps and one front wheel well molding. All the convertible top pieces are there. Trim, moldings, latches, cables and motor. Everything moves up and down like it should. All the lenses are in and complete. The only one broken is one of the back up lights in the rear bumper. The left side of the rear bumper is pushed in about an inch or so and pushed the rear panel in a very little bit. It doesn't allow the trunk to close all the way. One last thing. I put a battery in it. Most of the lights, idiot lights, blower fan and radio all powered on. I filled the carb with gas and it turned easily and fired on ether. I have about 40 more pictures. Good Luck.
