I have too many toys & the wife says I need to get a more "practical" car. Bought it 2 years ago as a grocery getter. The previous owner replaced the engine 50K before I bought it. I put about 20k on this since I have had it. But then I made one change here & there. Before I knew it, the XJ became another project. The upgrades include (over $9000!! with parts & labor): 2 inch Rubicon lift 5 Grand Cherokee rims with 31X12.50 Interco mud swampers 100 watt Delta Xenon Headlights 4 100 watt Delta Xenon Flood lights 9000lb smittybuilt winch (never used - never needed it!) Heavy duty off-road front bumper with stinger. The front frame was reinforced with 1/2inch steel plates that were welded on the mounting points for the front bumper to handle extra abuse. American Expedition Vehicles (A.E.V.) Rear bumper with tire swing (bumper was 1 of only 25 made!) Warrior Products Knight Guard Nerf Bars Dual Sound System with AM/FM/GPS/DVD/CD with blue-tooth hands-free cell interface, slide out screen, ipod connector, & detachable face. 2001 4.0 intake installed to add 20 more horsepower. High flow cat back exhaust 1000cfm Electric fan w. 180 degree thermostat (replaced mechanical fan to lower operating temperature, & increase horsepower) Folding hitch cargo basket rated at 500lbs. New engine parts include- radiator, belt, hoses, head, ac compressor, power steering unit, & water pump. Anti-theft device. I am probably forgetting something as far as the upgrades, I have put a lot of time / effort / & $$$ into it. It gets compliments wherever I am. I honestly didn't get a chance to take it off road, but it came in real handy during the snowpocalypse trilogy of storms in winter '09-'10. I didn't get stuck at all. The body is in great shape for it's age - but there are numerous scuffs in the paint. She is not a trailer queen. If you are looking for a pristine SUV, this is not your rig. If you are looking for a tough, no nonsense truck, then BID! I have too many other projects (a TJ, a Z3{already being sold:( too!}, & a Fiero), and the wife wants something that's a little bigger to cart around our little one. If you are looking for a fun daily driver that won't get stuck in the snow, look no further. I have this listed this locally for sale on craigslist as well. Apparently the car history checker on Ebay thinks that this vehicle is beyond the mechanical limits on the odometer. It is a digital unit that would have to go above a 1,000,000 miles to do that. The odometer is a digital model & goes up to 999,999 before it exceeds it's mechanical limits. The reporting agency thinks that it's capabilities only go to 99,999 & thus showed a problem because the truck has 250,000 miles on it. On Nov-08-11 at 18:15:34 PST, seller added the following information: Yesterday three items were fixed. The positive battery terminal had a hairline crack, so I replaced them both. I had an issue with the driver's side power window. I had it fixed when the mechanic replaced the front breaks. The breaks have less than 50 miles on them at this point. I don't see them going over 200 miles before the auction ends.
