Here's the story. My dad grew up in Southern California in the 50s and 60s when hot rodding got it's start and after a life of building cool cars he started this one. At my house for Thanksgiving in 2005 dad told me he was starting a rat rod project which I thought was really cool because these cars represent what the cars were like when he was growing up. You built it with what you could beg, borrow or steal. Since he couldn't find a soild A frame he built his own. He dug a 40 ford axel out of a buddies scrap yard and found the Model A body at some of our relations farm in pieces on a pallett. So in the late summer of 2006 he had a gutted Model A body with the top chopped 4" setting on a rolling chassis with the 49 flatty that came from some other relations old farm collection setting in it . In Oct. 2006 he was dignosed with lung cancer and he turned it over to me to finish. At 10:30 Sat. March 17, 2007 10 minutes before I was to leave to pick up the Flatty from being professionally rebuilt he passed away with us at his side. So my job was set, finish this car for him. So to the best of my ability I did. Problem is this car needs to be out and driven and at this point in my life with all my kids have going on this dosen't fit. I would like someone to take what dad and I created and enjoy it. It's 31 Model A body with suiside doors, completely rebuilt 49 Ford flathead (by Haines Automotive), speedway 3/4 cam, new .060 cast pistons, Robertson lifters, Edelbrock aluminium heads, 390 holley, Offy intake. Mid 70s C4 tranny(dad wanted the 3spd in it so don't tell him), 40 Ford drop front axel with 55 Ford truck drum brakes, S10 rear 3:42 gears. custom made dash, interior,seats and headers. Coilovers in the rear, fuel cell, electric fuel pump, Car drives good and straight all drum brakes stop good you just need to be thinking ahead they aren't disc's. Clear Iowa title in hand.
