Vehicle Detail
1967 Ford Ranchero 390-V8 VIN: 7K47C125188 Remember how much you cared for your first real girlfriend back in junior high? When I was in the ninth grade, mine had the coolest Dad in the whole world! He worked for Ford here in western Washington and they owned a Ranchero just like this hotrod ’67 390. He even let me drive it around the block several times alone – something my father wouldn’t EVER let a 14 year-old get away with! Over the years I’ve owned many vintage rigs and this has been one of the most fun to come our way in a long, long time. We acquired it about 8 years ago directly from the fellow that built the engine and transmission. If you’re in the market for a great driving, well-kept, vintage daily driver please give this Ranchero your kind attention. You’re also welcome to contact me with questions or to discuss a sale before the end of the eBay listing. My name is Mark Thompson and I can be reached at 206/914-1173 CONDITION: The photos really tell the Ranchero’s story. In the fall of 1967, this rig sold here locally in the snow and salt-free Pacific Northwest and has been in the area ever since. I take great pride in the vehicles we sell and feel that you should know as much about them as possible. Accordingly, here is a list of the good and also things possibly needing attention: The only real body flaws to point to in the photos are some nicks and dings on a few of the moldings (nothing serious, I’d leave them as-is). All the factory glass is great. The engine compartment is clean and fully detailed. Climb over, under and throughout and I know you’ll come up smiling! Rust? Well, this classic cruiser HATES rust and you’ll be very hard pressed to find anything here to worry about. Yes, the Puget Sound region gets its share of drizzle, but rarely any snow so our winter roads are not salted. One snowflake and everyone stays home. Besides, this vehicle has not even seen a winter road in the more than eight years I’ve owned it! One turn of the key and the strong 390 cubic-inch V8 fires right up with just a few pumps of the gas pedal when cold. The three-speed automatic transmission (with Hurst floor shifter) shifts smoothly, just like it should with NO slippage. Power steering and front disk brakes are here, too. Take another look at the interior shots. The carpet and headliner are in great condition. Both front buckets are covered because the center seat inserts are a bit worn. The previous owner used some sort of sheepskin for the center panels and I’ve never liked them hence the seat covers. All the vinyl portion of the seats are fine. As pictured, there are NO cracks in the dash cover. The original headliner and sun visors are fine. The matching carpets are clean and sound. Both door panels are original and in decent, average shape. I’m quite impressed with the condition of the dash gauges. They still look as clear and bright to me as the day this rig left the Kansas City plant back on October 5, 1967 heading for the Seattle District Sales area. A nice set of under dash amp/water temp/oil pressure gauges were installed alongside a Sun tachometer to keep track of performance. As my un-retouched photos show, the overall exterior is very good and the bright red paint holds a shine well. About the only thing I might suggest is a bumper re-chrome. I really like the look of the vintage Crager S/S chrome five spoke wheels! They’re wrapped with 236/60R14 Daytona SR tires each having at least 70% rubber. This Ranchero really is a blast to drive and absolutely turns heads everywhere you go! Please feel free to contact me with any questions. My direct phone number is 206/914-1173. You’re welcome and encouraged to stop by during business hours to inspect, drive and make an offer. Please BID WITH CONFIDENCE and know that you are purchasing a nice vehicle from a respected Ebay Seller. My main goal is be sure you’re happy with your purchase - and your dealings with me – with the hope that you’ll be back again and pass my name & number along to friends as well. Please Note: WE will NEVER, EVER “shill” or falsely "bump-up" an auction (a violation of eBay rules and also Federal Law). Because of the amount of money involved in buying a vehicle, we require that new eBay members with a feedback history of five or fewer transactions call or email before placing a bid. If we don’t have this initial contact, your bid may be cancelled. The phone number to talk directly to me, as outlined above, is 206/914-1173. Please feel free to call any time during the auction. My name is MARK THOMPSON. A Few Additional Terms and Conditions: Please check the photos over closely and call with any questions BEFORE you place a bid! You’re encouraged to inspect the vehicle, so make an appointment or send your representative early to be sure you don't miss this one. We reserve the right to cancel your bid if you have any negative feedback. DEALERS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME TO BID AS WELL! Additionally I reserve the right to end the auction early if the Ranchero is no longer for sale or an acceptable offer has been agreed to. A nonrefundable $500 deposit is due within 48 hours of the auction’s end. Because of the high fees they charge, we accept PAYPAL for the deposit only. The balance is due by cash or certified funds within seven days unless prior arrangements have been made with us. Please remember you are bidding to buy and I fully expect the winning bidder to fulfill their Ebay contract! You’re not bidding to hold, inspect or then come test-drive the vehicle later (You’re more than welcome to do this before the auction ends). If you do decide to have the vehicle shipped home, there are numerous vehicle transport companies to choose from. We ship vehicles regularly and I'd suggest that you get a transport bid from www.U-ship.com. Transporters will bid delivery of the vehicle and you'll be able to choose who you want to use. The zip code for pick-up would be 98032 (Kent, Washington) to get an instant on-line quote. The shipping of the vehicle and company chosen are the responsibility of the BUYER. The Ford can be stored free of charge at our location for up to two weeks after full payment has been made. I’ll begin charging storage at $15 per day after that. I’m available almost everyday but Sunday for pickup, but please call ahead. The Buyer will be responsible for the licensing requirements in their state of residence. If you live here in Washington State we’ll need to collect the 9.3% sales tax, title preparation, transfer and registration fees. Because the car is advertised and for sale locally, we reserve the right to cancel this auction early if it’s no longer available for sale online. The State of Washington shall have exclusive jurisdiction over all disputes. Venue shall be exclusively in King County. The final contract signed between both buyer and seller shall be binding. The final signed contract and terms thereof shall govern the sale. All disputes arising out of or relating to this auction, any negotiations, the signed agreement, or to the breach, enforcement or interpretation thereof, shall be resolved by binding arbitration in Washington, in accordance with the terms contained in the final sale agreement and under the laws of the State of Washington.
