Vehicle Detail
1966 MUSTANG GT350R TRIBUTE CAR This is a beautifully restored tribute to the 1966 Mustang GT350R race car with a 4-speed toploader. The car also has some nice modern upgrades such as Wildwood 4-wheel disc brakes, freshly rebuilt 347ci stroker motor which looks like an original GT350 289 HiPo motor, Boyd Coddington deep dish wheels with low profile radial tires, 2” dropped front axles which gives the car a nice aggressive rake, JVC 4-speaker stereo with iPod/iPhone connector, fully restored and dynamatted interior, and a nice rumbling Magnaflow dual exhaust system with chrome tips. Everything works perfectly on this car. It turns heads everywhere it goes. You won’t be disappointed. Engine/Transmission The motor is a 347 ci stroker motor rebuilt to look like the original GT350 motor using original recreation Cobra engine parts: - Cobra oil pan - Cobra intake manifold - Cobra valve covers - FOMOCO hoses - FOMOCO hose clamps - Ford chrome air cleaner But on the inside, it has Keith Black flat top pistons and a roller cam, built using a 5.0 302 ci roller motor. The block was line bored and honed. The motor was rebuilt to a compression ratio of 9.5:1. The motor has approximately 350 hp and has a very nice sounding exhaust note. The motor is very dependable and always starts, even when not started for a couple of months. No oil leaks whatsoever. Recently rebuilt original 4-speed top-loader transmission with Hurst shifter and knob. It shifts very smoothly and has a good tight feel. Interior Interior is fully restored including new headliner, new carpeting, Cobra car mats, and new seat covers. Car was fully dynamatted last year which significantly reduced the road noise and eliminated all squeaks and rattles. The Dynamatt also made the car feel more solid. Other interior features include original Shelby Cobra oil pressure and Tach gauges mounted in the center pod, Moto Lita wood steering wheel, 2-point racing belts, padded roll-bar with fire extinguisher. Glove box door is signed by Carrol Shelby. The only aftermarket modification is the addition of a modern 4-speaker stereo system which is a JVC AM/FM/CD player with iPod/iPhone connector. Two speakers are mounted in the front kick panels, and two speakers are mounted in the rear deck. Exterior The car has a very beautiful white paint job with painted (not stickers) blue GT350 racing stripes with clear coat on top. The car has the GT350R front apron which was used on the original GT350R racing cars. The front apron includes a wider front opening for improved radiator cooling. Functional driving lights are located behind the grille. The car has a very aggressive stance as the front axles are lowered 2 inches. Very nice Boyd Coddington 17x8 deep dish wheels which get compliments everywhere. Tires are 225/45x17 radial tires, which are like new. Title Clean title, which is for a 1965 Mustang. This car was modified to look like a 1966 Mustang GT350R.
