Vehicle Detail
The color is Midnight Blue, a German paint that sometimes looks black and even purple and sometimes dark blue. Gorgeous paint. It's tuned and ready to go. Runs great, reliable. Interior is clean - good condition. Well cared for, kept in a garage! I live in Jackson Hole, WY, near Yellowstone, National Park. G 50, 5 speed manual transmission. Smooth and fast. The driver's seat is adjustable with power. You can adjust it in with tremendous variety and precision.Custom sound system with CD player and two amps. Car comes with cover, two Porsche hats, custom fit sun shade for windshield, two shop manuals and one extra custom Porsche racing steering wheel in case you want variety. I recently had the Targa top completely restored by Dave Brown (TarghaExpert@comcast.net) My brother owned it in Southern California until 2005, and a billionaire owned it in Southern California before him. The car adds pleasure to my life. Enjoy! Problems:windshield wipers don't work - the linkage gets stuck (repairable)the footwell heater on the driver's side squeals at first (10 seconds) when you turn on heater, then it's quiet. Cruise control doesn't work (works when you hold your hand on it, doesn't stay on by itself)small cracks in dashboard (see photo).Blemish about the size of a silver dollar on the driver's side back bumper. I can email you a close up photo and more photos if you want.side mirrors are adjustable by hand, (power adjustment doesn't work). There's a hole in the side of the windshield washing fluid reservoir (repairable)Burns approximately one quart of oil every 500 miles. The car always starts great. It does not leak oil, but it smokes for a few minutes until warm. Drives smooth. It's a good car.I've been buying Amsoil synthetic 20/50 oil. I change the oil regularly. The last oil change was 10 days ago (75 miles ago). I switched from synthetic to conventional 20/50. The Porsche guru here told me that synthetic will slip past the seals. I imagine that the oil consumption will be considerably less now. Dear marta_fr,Thanks for your offer! But no thanks. $12,000 firm. Buy it now for $13,200. The car is actually in great shape. It barely smokes every now and then, I haven't seen any the last few times I've driven the car. Smooth ride. Great engine. I think the conventional oil did the trick on stopping oil consumption. I dropped the price $2,000 so the next owner can cure all the little things, If it doesn't sell for $12,000, I'll pay to fix them myself and re-list it on Ebay for a higher figure.- jjjdr72xb On Oct-31-11 at 10:36:22 PDT, seller added the following information: I drove the car again today. I've driven it 175 miles since I changed the motor oil from 20/50 Amsoil synthetic to 20/50 conventional. There has been no loss of oil. I believe the car doesn't burn oil. From the knowledgable people I've talked to, I believe the synthetic oil was slipping past the valve guide seals.
