For your consideration; A 1962 Chevrolet short bed, step-side pickup truck. It features the large back window and a 235 ci. straight six cylinder engine & three speed transmission (column shift) & radio delete package. The engine & transmission are correct for this truck (engine production number 3769716). VIN indicates an Oakland CA manufacture. I purchased this from the estate of a person, who is believed to be the original owner. It retains the original CA black license plates I have recently (within this past week) replaced the following: 12V battery, battery cables, crankcase oil, spark plugs, plug wires, dist. cap, points, coil, oil filter, fuel filter, oil pan gasket, valve cover gasket & a Holley rebuilt Quadra-jet 1V carburetor. It also has new tires. It runs & shifts fine, however, I do believe that the rear-end is in need of repair as there is a leak at the shaft and the truck’s drive train will vibrate at speeds above 45 mph. I have noted minor rust (in comparison to most trucks of this age) at the bottom of the front fenders near the cab. It looks to have been repainted once, the same color as it came from the factory. There are several dings and scratches throughout the exterior painted surfaces. The most noted of which are located on the passenger side area roof and the passenger side in general. The interior is in good shape and the seat covers have done a nice job of protecting, what appears to be the original fabric. The original windows were perfect when I purchased it, but on the trailer ride home a rock struck the front windshield causing a round divot, about the size of a nickel. The pictures should give you a good idea of condition. This truck is a nice start for a restoration and/or v8 swap – make it your dream Chevy. Or, fine-tune it and drive it like it is, after all it has a nice “patina”. Please note the custom made tool box/tire spare tire carrier. I bought this truck to restore, but I have now focused on another. I am offering it for sale, here on ebay,with a reserve for less than what I have spent.
