I am selling a 56 Desoto as a parts car or to a very motivated restorer. The car was original a light blue. It's now in a gray primer with surface rust coming through. It has the usual lower rust, in which the guy before the guy I bought it from cut out the rot around the lower rear quarters, and rear wheel wells, (As pictured) in the attempt to restore it He also removed several of the parts, (that now has to be reassembled) and unfortunately that's as far as he got with his restoration. I'll discuss what parts I know that have been removed, what's missing, and her condition. To anyone restoring a 55-56 Desoto this would make a great parts car as these parts are getting harder and harder to find. Luckily all of the (hard to find) exterior trim appears to be present, except for the hubcaps. The windshield and back window are in great shape (no cracks or fogginess) Rear quarter windows are also good, but have been removed from the car, along with the window regulators. Both of the door glass has been removed as well, and is badly cracked. Gas tank is included but has been removed. Door jam latches and trunk lock are missing preventing them from staying shut. Right center back up light is broke. Doors are rust free but passengers door is a little wavy. Engine is mostly complete but unfortunately at one time got water inside, busting one of the cylinder walls. Engine's probable good just for parts. Air cleaner, brake booster, and brake pedal assemble are missing. 4 bbl Carb, and power steering are included, but off of car. Starter, and distributor cap are missing. Interior's in ruff condition, and disassembled. Dash is complete. Headliner's been removed and needs replacing. Seats and door/quarter panels are out of car, and need reupholstering.
