Up for bids! Here we have a VW Beetle TDI that needs a fair amount of work.... First, the good stuff. I've done all of the maintenance on this car since I bought it with about 86k miles. The car had a nearly plugged intake manifold when I bought it, so I learned the intricacies of VW TDIs very early on. The last timing belt was done at 155k miles & I did the water pump and idler pulleys at that time. Over it's life, I've replaced the brakes, alternator (twice), A/C compressor, accessory belt tensioner, front wheel bearing, all four struts & installed the class I trailer hitch. It has a VW 20GB Phatbox music system installed where the CD changer traditionally goes and this system is controlled through the factory AM/FM/cass head unit. It had the dealer purchased rear spoiler & window tinting when I bought it. I added the 17" wheels, side window & sunroof visors. It had a new Autozone battery installed in August. The Phatbox USB cradle & software CD are included, as well as a white cloth VW vehicle storage/dust cover Now for the issues.... Makes VERY little power, will run 60-80mph down the expressway, but requires a downhill grade to accelerate... it simply will not accelerate up a hill. There are no engine service lights or codes, so I'm guessing it's a case of a REALLY bad MAF sensor. I no longer have access to a hoist or VAG-COM, but the turbo seems to work fine at low speeds & if the ECU was asking for boost & not getting it, that would typically throw a code. The other issues: windshield is cracked, A/C is charged but the chinese replacement compressor will no longer engage, I think the heater core leaks (albeit slowly, but it's still stinky & fogs the windshield), the driver's seat bottom is ripped, I think the Brake Booster leaks internally, the paint on the front is pretty well road-blasted, the trans doesn't want to come out of 5th gear if you lug it or are going too slow when you decide to downshift, the fuel door & trunk switchs on the driver's door do not work, you have to use the passenger switch to roll up the passenger window, the vinyl is sagging on the passenger door panel, the tire are pretty well worn & the cloth fuel return line from the injectors back to the pump is leaking. I think that pretty much covers it... The car was in storage from last November until August, as I no longer do any highway commuting & had replaced it with something that I could drive year round. (The heater fogging the windshield & no A/C were the final straw, the rest of the stuff was tolerable) I've driven the car for the last two weeks & have had no issues, aside from the ones previously mentioned, of course!! :-) The high bidder will also have the option to purchase a 2nd set of these 17" wheels with used Blizzak tires for $400. I'll do my best to answer any questions & accomodate the buyer. Sold AS-IS! No Reserve... Thanks for bidding & good luck!! Eric
