Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE 1965 Mustang This is a California High Desert car. With the exception of a few trips to LA, it spent it’s whole life in a small town in the Mojave desert. This is a 6 cylinder, Automatic, AM Radio, basic mustang. All the hard work is done! All that nasty suspension and “under the car” mess has been done to a high standard! What’s left is some clean-up and installation of the interior, paint, and re-assembly! It was purchased from the original owners by an aircraft mechanic at Edwards Air Force Base, who started the restoration from the bottom up. The entire underside of the car (all suspension parts, brakes, lines, hoses, tires, etc) is new. I have the old parts also. The underside parts have also been painted per the original Ford process. There are many boxes of new or replica parts and hardware for the car, plus more boxes of original parts. Other parts like the instrument panel have been restored to like new condition. The car comes with the original, numbers matching engine and transmission, plus a complete spare engine. The engines appear to be in decent condition, but should probably be rebuilt, or thoroughly inspected before use. The body is in very good condition, IE: No rust or repairs, and only one small crease in the door (1 ½ inches long X 1/8 in deep). As you can see from the photos, the seats are in very good condition, but the rest of the interior needs work. The door and quarter window glass is in good condition, but the windshield and back glass were pitted, and I discarded them. I bought the car 10 years ago with the intention of finishing the restoration. However, a job change, a move from California to Ga., and several overseas assignments, plus the acquisition of several other project cars, has caused me to adjust my priorities, and the Mustang needs a new home. The car had been kept in a garage in California, and since I bought it. This is a great project since ALL the parts for these cars are dirt cheap, and the cars are easy to work on. It also comes with several restoration guide books, and other information. Buyer is responsible for transporting the car after sale. The car can be towed on a dolly, but the 2 engines, the transmission, and other parts would need to be carried in a pickup or van. Call me if you have any questions, or wish to see the car.
