This truck was my dad's. He bought it new, and didn't drive it in the winter after 1985. It has always been garaged, and was not driven much at all after he bought another vehicle in 1985.I just tuned up the truck and had my mechanic give it a good shake down to see if there is anything wrong with it. I have been driving it for a week since and it drives great! Everything that needed replacing (fluids, wires, caps, hoses, belts) has been replaced. Everything has been throughly checked out, and I feel confident saying that the truck is free of any major defects and is running great. The only thing that will need attention in the next year that I know of is the roof. The vinyl roof is peeling off and the metal (original) roof underneath is starting to rust. It is not rusted through, and the truck does not leak, but it will need to be removed, buffed and either replaced or painted soon. The doors dont shut perfectly, you have to pull up on them a bit. They need to be adjusted. The engine is a 390. It is not all time 4 wheel drive, it has a divorced transfer case the bed is a production after market bed which is 1/8" thick. it has a new battery it has an after market aluminum intake on the engine it has front disk brakes the brushguard is from ford.
