2004 MERCEDES BENZ SL 600 R Retractable Hard Top and Roll Bar Loaded, Original MSRP and extras total over $ 161,000. AMG Sport Package and Badging RENNTECH STAGE 2 Package yields 640+ HP and 775+ Lb. Ft TORQUE. Includes ECU upgrade, Transmission ECU upgrade and gorgeous carbon fiber engine cover/airbox combo. http://www.renntechmercedes.com/www/node/242 The difference between the Stage 2 and 3 is an intercooler pump upgrade. The intercooler pump is a known issue on these cars and it was replaced by the local dealer's AMG tech at 24,881 miles. Another known issue on SLs is premature aging, warping and cracking of the third brake light. It was replaced August, 2011. Coverage until 5-28-2013 or 48,000 miles, whichever comes first. Contract can be extended for an additional fee. Ask me about the warranty. It has been great! FYI, the contract must be transferred within 30 days. Also, the contract cannot be transferred thru a dealer. There is a transfer fee, which seller will pay. Previous owner said Carfax showed an accident history, but the car has NEVER been in an accident. He had hit a curb and filed a claim to cover expert paint repair and 2 new wheels. I have the info and photos. Personal Notes: I have owned over 20 cars. Retractable hardtops offer the best of both worlds because of the ease of use and security. This car has more class and speed than almost anything else on the road. The drivabilty and flexibility are amazing. If you search the internet for SL600 info and videos you will realize that this car is understated and has a different (less) attitude than an SL55 or 63. The SL600 is quiet and very smooth, but a BEAST if you get on the throttle! If you are interested in more sound, I know other owners that have removed the rear mufflers and replaced with straight pipes for an increased tone. The combination of low mileage, features, warranty and price makes this SL600 a tremendous value.
