Background I was very lucky to find this car 2.7 CIS G –Series Impact Bumper Car in the Summer of 2009 with 137,000 Miles. It has traveled on quite a few adventures, and now someone else should be privileged to enjoy this timeless icon. Not only has this example been fitted with many updates of Carrera and SC models, it has some early features that set it apart. With regular maintenance attended to, this car is surprisingly fast and agile. Since the previous two owners enjoyed reducing weight, I was thoroughly pleased. While this is no show car, look out there and see how many ‘74s are still in decent shape…or are even in existence today. Moving for career opportunity regrettably forces this car from my collection. Good Luck! *Est. 170 HP * *Weight Approx 2,100 Lbs* Engine and Drive Train Good Condition Rebuilt Motor: Top End ‘ 03, ‘S’ Cams Oil done 5w40 and 15w50 Respectively, Very low oil consumption and darkening between 3k intervals, engine feels extremely smooth and responsive. 5 Speed 915 Transmission: Recent Fluid Change, Smooth Shifting Available in 5 Minutes of Driving, Gear Box Upgraded with Spring Loaded Clutch. Good, positive shifting. Torque is abundant enough to do 2nd Gear starts. Very Recent Cap, Rotor, Points, Ignition Harness, Spark Plugs, Permatune, Fuses. This car revs fast to the 6,500 RPM limited redline as it should and is very responsive. Alternator Belt Adjustment, Pop-off Valve, Carrera Chain Tensioners, 11 Blade Fan Exhaust: Stock Pre Emissions Exhaust. This was the last of the optimized setup without catalysts and most ideal. Trouble Areas: Air Leak in Airbox can cause idle Fluctuation and difficult restarts on hot days. Oil Drips are Marginal. Heating hoses have been deleted. Oil Cooling and Engine Temp: Front Mounted Mocal, Stainless Steel Oil Lines. Dual Signal Delete for Carrera Scoop for fantastic airflow. Engine runs at (180’F on 80 Degree Days ----145’F on 50 Degree Days). Limiting Excessive Engine Temps is top of mind; Atlanta temps never above 215’F in 100’F Weather and this motor. Exterior Good Condition -India Red (Respray) Narrow Body, No Dents, New Bumper Trim - 14” Baby Fuchs Wheels, GoodYear Tires with 75% Tread, Painted Caps with Pinwheel Blackout Classic Look (Good Condition with Minor Curb Rash) -Euro Carrera Rear Bumpers, Updated Headlights, Carrera ‘Script’ Graphics -New KYB Shocks, Front Strut Bar Trouble Spots: Very small rust bubbles at door bottoms and at base of doors, but aside from that the overall exterior is very presentable. Front air-dam is scuffed but intact. Side Mirrors should be replaced for cosmetic reasons. ‘Window-wiper’ scratches on windscreen from previous owners.
