The quality and detail of these 4x4 rigs, combined with the rugged, powerful durability of the Rover 4.0-liter V8 drive train make them among the best and most iconic models ever to come from England. This rig sold new in sunny, dry SoCal during August, 2001 and has spent it’s entire life driving only dry California and, since 2005, our salt-free western Washington roads. One good look-over shows it has always been loved and maintained. Reluctantly, the Discovery was traded-in a short time ago before being turned over to us for resale. VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: Ever spent an afternoon driving a classy Land Rover? Comfort, styling, and versatility all in one gorgeous ride. For my money, the Series II Discovery is the best value for the overall driving experience that Land Rover has to offer. With the top-of-the-line SE-7 package you get the dual power sunroofs with retractable sunshades, eight-way power heated front seats with lumbar adjustments, tilt leather-wrapped steering wheel AND seating for seven with the removable, fold-down rear jump seats. Take a look at the photos and I’m sure you’ll agree with me what a find this is. What you’re viewing is the result of a wash and vacuum only. It’s obviously been allowed to spend a majority of its life garaged because the overall condition is superior to most any other eight or ten-year-old Discovery’s you’re going to find and I’m sure you’ll admire its great provenance as well. Climb over, under and throughout - I know you’ll come up smiling! Rust? Please, you won’t find any here. Yes, the Puget Sound area is famous for rain, but our winter roads are never salted. We only have one or two days of light snow each year. Everyone panics and stays home. Besides, these SUV’s are built with aluminum body panels, so it’s not even an issue. If you happened to catch the Oscar-winning movie “The Queen” a few years ago, you’ll recognize this Discovery is almost identical to the one driven by Her Majesty’s security detail and even ol’ Liz herself! Hop in, fire up the 4.0-liter eight-cylinder engine and it starts immediately – even when cold! The automatic transmission shifts strongly and as it should. Same goes for the 4x4 system. Having owned many dozens of Rover vehicles over three decades, I’ve developed a great appreciation for their style, mechanical reliability and overall driving experience. I KNOW you’ll be proud to own and drive this wonderful vehicle. Please take the time to go over the clean AutoCheck report included with this listing. It verifies the “No Accident” status and that there are absolutely no nasty negatives here to cause concern; NO history of salvage, flood damage, accidents or a rebuilt title. CONDITION: In total, this is an exceptionally clean, well cared for, smoke-free Land Rover. I take great pride in the cars and trucks we sell and feel that you should know as much about them as possible. Accordingly here is a list of the good and also things needing attention: The drive train idles, runs and drives as I feel it should – immediate, strong oil pressure, strong battery and charging system, no overheating, and no brake pull or alignment issues! I’ve driven daily over the past week and freeway cruised at 70 MPH +. No issues with the A/C system; it blows ice cold when desired. The original british racing green paint is in good, non-oxidized condition and still shines well. The floor pans and, in fact, the entire undercarriage is in great, solid shape. All four of the 16-inch factory alloy wheels are straight and true with each tire at least 60-70% wear remaining. Take another good look at the interior pictures. You’ll see the carpets are in clean, original condition. The tan leather upholstery is all-original with no rips, tears, fading or wear-through spots. Same goes for the door panels and the headliner. The carpets are in clean, original condition and appear to have always been protected by the included factory rubber mats front and back. All dash gauges and exterior lights are bright and true. The 90-watt audio system works great. About the only negative I can think to point out is the rear hatch door has a stuck exterior release handle.
