This auction is for a true piece of California history. Nearly everyone who grew up in Los Angeles area from the 1930s to 1960s can remember this unique Helms truck and it’s “toot toot” whistle. There were 148 of these box shaped delivery trucks produced. After the company closed in 1968, most of these were sold off, and a number of them were scrapped. The trucks were powered by a Hercules in line four cylinder engine. This truck is one of those survivors that is still equipped with its original engine. This particular truck is running great and is complete. There are no drawers in the rear of this truck. All original parts were used to restore this truck. It has been converted to 12 volts with new wire harness. Tow bar installed for towing. Has signal system installed for driving. I also have photos of the trucks restoration.
