Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE 1961 (LIKELY 1965) HONDA CA77 305 “DREAM” Listed on title as 1961 Honda Motorcycle, VIN: CA77E1023892 I am not an expert but have been told it is most likely actually a 1965. Not currently registered. Tags and inspection were current through 2005. Title is clear. Mileage listed is on replacement odometer and assumed not accurate. This was purchased as my first motorcycle nearly six years ago. I never ended up getting my motorcycle license. So I have put less than 30 miles on it just running it around the block every once in a while. I never ended up registering it (title is clear), and since it doesn’t look like I am ever going to be a motorcycle guy after all, it is time to move it out of the garage and into a good home. I have the original cost of the bike as well as another $800 invested in parts and labor. I just hope to get back as much of my investment as possible. Reserve is very low. I prefer not to ship, so plan on pick up in Tyler, TX. If you REALLY want it shipped and are willing to take care of all details yourself, I will accommodate, but I currently do not have any ability to get it to a shipper (ie. no ramps etc to get it into bed of my truck). Tyler, TX is about 90 minutes east of Dallas. It is a great bike. It runs very well. It currently is not running as it needs installation of new wiring harness. That NOS part is included in sale. Everything works. All mechanicals and electricals work. It looks great from about 5 feet but there are several cosmetic issues. It was in a low speed laydown accident before my purchase (reason the previous owner sold it… got spooked) but damage was minimal and primarily cosmetic. Photos will detail all of this. Damage includes road rash abrasions on front upper aspect of front fender. Cracking/chipping of paint / body compound on lower rear flare of front fender. Metal is intact. Bent front left foot peg (replacement is included). That is it. Chrome is in great shape without pitting. The paint has mild issues. There is chipping of the paint on the tank around the cap, and at the lower right aspect of tank, but no apparent leak. Overall appearance of paint is good, but not perfect in any way. The tires were new in 2005. Less than 50 miles on them. Brakes perfect. Engine runs strong. Transmission shifts smoothly. Seat is new. Purchased in October 2005. Had been sitting for about 6 months. Therefore taken to local cycle shop that specializes in older Hondas. $528.61 spent at Cycle Specialist of Tyler, TX in November 2005, mostly in labor. It basically got a “once over” including tune up, fuel tank / fuel system cleaning, installation of new clutch cable, brake system check, electrical check, rebuilt carburetor, etc. At that time I ran it around about 20 miles and it ran great. It then sat, getting ridden just 1-2 miles around the block every few months. The wiring harness had cracks and ended up shorting out during a battery charge. So it has now sat about 12-15 months since it was last ridden. Again, all it needs is installation of new wiring harness (included in sale) and it will be in perfect running order. Purchase includes all parts seen in photos: - There is a new electrical starter included. Not a cheap part. Current starter works but it is a bit slow to turn over. Kicks starts easily, first or second kick, every time. - New rear side foot pegs. - New front left foot peg. - Old air filter and carb. - Extra air hose tubing. - Misc. electrical parts - Battery purchased by me new 5 years ago. - NOS wiring harness (seen in photo with battery). - NOS speedometer. Current speedometer works but “bounces”. New or near new at time of my purchase: - Air filter / cleaner - New tires and tubes - Brakes overhauled with new shoes and pillions steps. - Speedometer - Clutch cable - Handlebar grips All receipts and paperwork from both me and previous owner included.
