Here is a pretty rare 1966 Opel Kadett L 2 door coupe fastback. This is a California car that was purchased new here in Cali so it has the original black and yellow plates front and rear. The plates are also on the title so they go with the car. This Opel has not been operable since 1997. The engine is the original 4 cylinders 1100. 4 speed manual transmission, 1 key does it all, opens doors, trunk, ignition and glove compartment. I do have the key for the fuel cap as well. Never been re painted still has most of its red or lobster red original paint. Although partially primer painted there is no visual body damage or bondo under the primer. The only visible damage is in the front behind the front bumper and the fuel tank lid. I put a brand new set of spark plugs, a pair of front headlights (Halogen), radiator hoses were dried dead so I was able to find one although the return hose that is there is just for show and needs the correct one. I tried to fire it up with a hot battery but the starter is frozen and needs to be rebuilt or swapped with a new one. The engine turns freely by hand. Critters have used this Opel as their German cottage for the past 20 years so some electrical wires have been chewed. The electrical on these cars is pretty simple so should not be a problem re connecting the wires. This is my second time selling an Opel and again I am vey impressed on how solid these cars are made. The sheet metal is very thick and extremely resistant. The only true visual rust cancer on this Kadett is in the battery compartment in the front passenger side firewall. The trunk has signs of rust though I have hammered the part with a rubber mallet and there are no rust holes. This opel is very much complete although weathered. It is a great candidate for a restoration project. These Opels are surprisingly solid and I wish other European makers of that era would have used the same sheet metal. This is the fastback and to me resambales a miniature mustang fastback in the rear and a 442 in the front. If the winner needs a little more time I would grant that although If not picked up by the time requested I'd have to charge $25 per week storage fee the following week after the 14 days grace period. This is primarily to encourage the buyer to have the car picked up as soon as possible or I would end up with my entire lot packed with vehicles. I understand it sounds a bit harsh though I hope it makes a point.
