Vehicle Detail
This listing is for a 2002 Medium Cypress Green Lincoln LS with Medium Parchment interior. Those colors were not selectable so I ended up putting other. I have been using eBay to buy and sell cars for years now and have never had a problem. This car and my previous car were both purchased from eBay and my previous car was also sold on eBay. I have owned this car for almost three years now and it has not given me hardly any trouble until recently. Previous to now the only thing I ever had to replace on it was a DIS module and the clockspring, but for a car with around 140K that isn't bad. The reason I am selling it is because it stalled on me last month. Luckily I was close to home and managed to limp it to the house. It was rush hour and I was crossing a busy street on a sidestreet. There was heavy traffic so I gave it some gas to get across quickly. Unfortunately after I made it across the intersection she stalled on me and wouldn't turn over. Knowing my battery was good I feared the worst, thinking the engine was seized. But when I came back later with a buddy to push it home, it was too heavy for us so I decided to see if it would start. To my surprise it started right up but wasn't idling steadily and then died again a couple blocks later so I re-started it and got her home. I started it again today and it idled without dying but obviously something is wrong. I talked it over with my girlfriend and we decided that since I work from home we don't really need two cars and the best plan would be to sell it and drive her car. So basically I don't know what is wrong. It could be something small or something more. If you are a serious buyer, feel free to have your mechanic take a look at it before you buy. The car has 141,725 miles on it and has wear appropriate for the miles. But before it started stalling it was very reliable and also very fast. The 3.9 liter V8 makes about 250 horsepower and even more torque. It will push you back in your seat and does 0 - 60 mph in about 7 seconds, way faster than the V6 LS. Additionally it also has high levels of comfort with leather seats, keyless entry, wood trim and dual-zone climate control. The front seats are in great condition for a 10 year old car and the rear seats are even better. All of this can be seen in the pictures below. The exterior has some dings and other rough areas but nothing that isn't easily fixed. This would be a good project for someone with decent body skills. The front fenders are both dented but fenders are easily replaced and can be found new or at the salvage yard. They were dented when I bought the car but I decided it was not serious enough to fix. Additionally the moonroof, all four windows, all four locks and the DVD player are all in perfect working condition. The moonroof drain tube on the passenger side has been replaced and now the one on the driver's side needs to be replaced. Some of the windows are scratched but it doesn't affect drivability. I was planning on removing the ashtray and putting a DVD screen in there since I don't smoke but I never got around to it. The front door speakers have been upgraded to JL Audio while I left the rear door speakers factory. This is a really cool car to put subs in since the battery and fuse box are in the trunk. That makes for easy power, ground and remote wiring so all you need to do is run the RCA cable but that was another project I never started. The passenger side power seat works but the driver's side is not working for an unknown reason. It could be a fuse or may just be broken, I don't know. The carpet in the back has some damage. For some reason the trunk doesn't open from inside the car but will open with the keyless entry. The front driver's side tire went flat right before it stalled so it is riding on a donut with the fourth rim in the trunk. The tires could stand to be replaced but I went through the whole winter without getting stuck as this vehicle is equipped with traction control. I have really enjoyed driving this car but it is time for me to move on. This is a nice project for someone with the tools, time and ability that I don't have. Private party book value for this car in fair condition is right at $4500, but I assume that would be with the engine running properly, so I am asking $3500, plus I am willing to consider reasonable offers. Have a look at the pictures below and don't hesitate to contact me with any questions.
