Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a 1967 Mustang Fastback. This was originally a California car and does not have a rust problem. I drove the car in Colorado for a 3 year period until I decided to do a resto mod soon after moving to the east coast. The car has not been on the road since I started work. For the past year I have not been able to work much because of a shoulder problem and by the time I heal from the surgery I will be returning to my home out west. As it is, I have too many cars/projects and it will help if I don't have to haul this one back. The car is complete except for a few adjustments. I installed a CEC hydraulic clutch in place of the original clutch linkage, and it needs adjusting. The car is equipped with a 4 barrel Holley Dominator carburator and I have not attempted to adjust since I am not a carburator man. I start the car every other day and it runs fairly smoothly but requires tunning. The hood spring locations need to be adjusted so as to allow flush closing of the hood. Also, I believe the radio antenna needs to be hooked to the power antenna. The car is painted in the traditional Shelby manner. The color is from the Dodge automaker, Blaze/Inferno Red. The wheels are American Racing Torq-Thrust and looks very good on the staggered 205/55R16 front and 225/50R16 rear, Of course, all are new. Underneath I have the Pro-Motorsports front A-arms with new shocks, and a new set of rear springs with new shocks. The result was lowering of the car 1 inch. The car has not had a front end alignment but recommended camber, castor and toe-in settings are available from me. The car is equipped with front and rear set of disc brakes by Stainless Steel Co. which looks very good as viewed thru the Torq-Thrust wheels. Also new is the Stainless Steel master cylinder and proportional front/rear valve. The rear wheels are equipped with a Lokar emergency brake and cable. The car motor is the very strong 351C. While it was not stock with this year mustang, it fits very well and is quite responsive. Just some items on the engine in no particular order. The motor is equipped with a 4 barrel 650CFM Holley Dominator. The high capacity mechanical fuel pump is by Mr. Gasket, March aluminum crank pulley, Comp Cam, hydraulic, with a 0.494 lift and duration at 0.50 of 218 degrees. It givs a pleasing but tough lope to the motor. The heads have a Crane Cam rocker arm conversion kit and Magnum Roller Rocker Arms, and Professional Products harmonic damper. Also included is the One-Wire Alternator by Performance Distributors, for a simple hookup. The distributor is made by Performance Distributors, calibrated to 24 degrees at 3000 rpm. Hooked to the substantial motor is a freshly rebuilt 4 speed Toploader, equipped with a new Hurst shifter, new balanced drive shaft and U-joints. I have used the stock cast iron exhaust manifold since I had plenty of get up and go and I liked the quitter sound of the cast iron manifold. The rear end is a 9 inch 3.50. I have not touched it. I've had a professionally installed an all welded 2 1/2 dual exhaust system. Also, the gas tank is new and the car is also equipped with traction bars. You will notice in the photographs, a set of running lights installed in the same general position in the orginal Shelby. They are adjustable. The stock drag link steering has been replaced by a Flaming River rack and pinion system. On the ends of the steering rack are a set of Bump Steer linkage connected to the lower control arm. The steering assembly is connected to a Flaming River tilt steering column, and a 13 inch Momo steering wheel. The steering wheel assembly looks very business like. The paint scheme is traditional Shelby as defined with tapering stripes along the length of the car. It is equipped with hood pins and stainless steel cables, flipped up Shelby deck lid, and the 1968 Thunderbird tail lights. They do not sequence as they did on the 1967 Shelby. The rear window louver is non stock in 1967 and can be removed however, I felt it added to the look of the car. The front and rear bumpers are new but I am a little disappointed with the pitting I have seen. The windshield is new. On the interior the dash is non standard and is equipped with black faced, red needle, chrome trimmed Auto Gage instruments. Included in the dash main instrument cluster are the larger 0-8000 rpm electronic tach and 0-120 mph mechanical speedo, and smaller , 2 5/8 dia, fuel, voltmeter and water temperature gages. In a lower hump mounted center console there are three additional gages, vacuum, oil pressure and clock. I have toggle switch control for the front auxillary running lights, radiator fan and interior lights. Windshield washer, 2 speed wiper, main lights, ignition switch and 12V accessory outlet are also located on the center console. Foot pedals are from TCP. The seats are Corbeau Sport seats vinyl with 3 inch wide Simpson seat belts. There is a strong sound system consisting of a center console mounted CD player, MTX amp, 12 inch woofer and 4 interior speakers. Door panels are pocketed, vinyl, and the rear seat and deck are newly upholstered vinyl. The floor carpet is new. The car is equipped with a battery shut off switch under the dash for additional security. There is a 90ma battery drain which is not particularly bad but one does not have to worry about battery drain when the switch is shut off. I could be possibly talked into delivering the car if it is within a day's drive, HOWEVER, all purchase arrangements have to be concluded. Trip expenses, fuel and nites lodging, will be at the buyers expense. Good bidding
