Vehicle Detail

1972 Scout in strong mechanical condition. Driver side valve cover slow leak through bolts (need to be bumped/re-sealed), easy enough just have not taken the time since I do not drive it much. Aside from this, the only other issue, as far as daily driving, is the fuel neck should be replaced (rubber hose that goes from tank to plastic neck). Literally, buy a hose and clamp it in. Easy, but again, I do not drive the Scout much. As is, refuels take a few minutes longer. There is some rear wheel well rust on each side, could be cut out or sealed and covered with bushwhackers. There is also some bed rust, that ultimately could be cut and replaced (easy enough) or left alone. MOST, have complimented me on the Scout as is, for it looks rugged with that old school appeal. That being said, this was the start of a restoration project. Good news... Brand new Holley carb new spacer and ELECTRIC choke, Grant steering wheel, starter motor, Pertronix electronic ignition and Flame Thrower coil, Skyjacker 2-3 in LEAF suspension lift with 4 new Nitro shocks, re-upholstered bench seat in vinyl, all new poly bushings (leafs and shackles), brand new heavy duty shackles with SWAY bar, new plugs wires and distributor cap, NEW EXHAUST and TERRA TOP conversion making the top REMOVAL incredibly easy (unbolt and remove 44 lb. top). I might be missing something, but thats most of it. Obviously the new suspension, shackles and poly bushings were a huge pain, but a nice upgrade. I have driven the Scout up to 225 miles in a day, without issue. Of course, the ideal terrain is trails, mountains, etc... but its a Scout. Everyone loves Scouts. Which begs the questions, why selling? I towed it with me from Washington when I moved to Austin, as I did not see myself parting with it... alas, since then, I just do not drive it with work and other obligations. Does not make sense to have it sit. Currently running 33 x 10.50 tires. As is I am $6,000 into this Scout; starting bid and reserve is $3,000. Let me know if you have any questions, thanks.
