1979 Honda xr 500

1979 Honda 500 cc four stroke single cylinder thumper motor in a Champion frame. This bike has been sitting for a few years, but I still fire it up occasionally to ride up and down the street. It is push start only, but I have a box of kickstart stuff for it if the new owner wishes to convert it back. It has alot of compression and is easy to start going down hill, on flat ground it may need a helper. I think one of the rocker cover gaskets had a small leak last time we fired it, engine sounds excellent, 5-speed transmission,Mikuni carburetor, Champion nickel plated frame that someone painted black, Champion fiberglass, modified rear dropouts,oil cooler. It has a front brake rotor so it could easily be setup for TT racing or flat track. This is a race only bike and will come with a bill of sale only. It will need some maintanence and TLC before it is ready to put back on the track. It has Goodyear Eagle tires and the sidewalls have some sidewall cracks. Sold in 'as is' condition as it is pictured. Any non-cash payment must be able to clear at my bank before the vehicle is released.
