In fact, March 1966 marked the creation of the millionth Mustang. Although the first few years were definitely good for Ford and its sporty Mustang, 1966 was the year all that hard work truly began to pay off. By 1966, most people began to associate the Ford Mustang with power and performance. It was the car to have if you needed a daily driver and it was the car to have if you needed a weekend cruiser with a sporty edge. DESCRIPTION: Here you have a perfect example of a solid 1966 Mustang Coupe with the highly desired “C” Code meaning a 289 cubic inch V-8 engine @ 200hp w/9.3:1 compression and two-barrel carburetor. This 289 V8 is mated to its original C-4 Automatic Transmission so you can cruise down the road in style with the conventional rear axle ratio of 2.80. The car is equipped with factory power steering and a nice set of styled steel wheels (1965 all steel) mounted to a good set of white wall tires. This Mustang Coupe was built at Ford’s San Jose, CA assembly plant on May 12, 1966. The car made its way from California to North Carolina in 2005. The integrity of this car is sound with the original door data plate in place and the VIN clearly visible on the front apron. The car runs out strong and smooth and shifts through the gears as it should. This ’66 Mustang Couple would make for a good daily driver as one makes ongoing cosmetic improvements. The Coupe is painted her original factory Raven Black approximately 3 years ago. New chrome emblems, bumpers and rocker panel moldings were recently installed. The interior was originally black but now a very attractive deluxe pony interior dressed in GOLD to compliment the Black exterior.
