Very nice 71 Dodge Dart Swinger, virtually rust free California car and practically 100% complete. Factory V8, air conditioning, power steering and disc brake car. Original blue and yellow California plates. Engine is a smooth running 318 with a Holley 4 barrel carb, Edelbrock Performer intake and Mopar electronic ignition upgrade. There is a minor exhaust leak coming from the manifold, which is a perfect excuse to get headers! The transmission is a tight shifting 904 automatic on the column. This Dart starts, idles, runs and stops great. The front end recently received new front wheel bearings and seals, new pitman and idler arms, as well as new strut rod and lower control arm bushings. The Underhood A/C parts are missing, but interior goodies are still in place. The interior on this car is in excellent condition. The seats are just about perfect. The cover is worn through on the driver side corner, but it's under the seat back and not seen unless the seat is folded forward. Other than that there are no rips or tears in the seats. The carpet is also just about new with no stains, rips or tears. Door panels, again, are in excellent condition with only a small 3/4" long tear on the passenger side panel, however it is hardly noticeable. Dash is in great shape. All the gauges and lights work. Woodgrain trim is in very nice condition. Dash pad is still supple, however the corners near the a-pillars are wrinkled. Headliner is nice, but the stitching on one seam is starting to come apart. All the arm rests are in excellent condition and are still soft and squishy. The body is 99.5+% rust free with only 3 small rust spots; 2 in the passenger side lower 1/4 panels (1 spot is dime size, the other is nickel to quarter size), the 3rd is a quarter size spot on the passenger side rocker panel. I have shots of these spots in the pictures link. The floors are spotless, as are the frame rails. Zero rust through anywhere else. Trunk extensions, spare tire well, inner fenders, as well as the other "usual" A-Body rust spots are clean and rust free. All FACTORY sheet metal. The gaps are all nice and even. The doors open and shut properly. The only spot of bondo is in the front valance. Bring a magnet and confirm. This would be an EASY car to restore; practically no rust repair or body work is needed. The other trouble spot is on the driver 1/4 panel, near the gas filler, where the gardener smashed his lawn mower handle into it. There is some paint missing and 2 soft dents from this. The current paint job is not the best, but it still looks great. The orange was sprayed over red and there are some spots where they didn't get all the red, mostly on the bottom edges of the fenders. It is an older paint job and there are some flaws that come with age. Factory side and wheel opening moldings are in excellent condition. The rest of the trim is in excellent condition as well. The driver side fender "eyebrow" trim has some damage (see pics). The grille is perfect. Not one missing, cracked or broken tooth, nor are there any fractures. The front bumper is nice and shiny, no rust or dents. The rear bumper still shines, but is starting to dull and it has a few dents. All the glass is in great shape, no cracks or even the common windshield-wiper scratches. All windows operate smoothly. Taillight lenses are in great shape, no cracks. All exterior lighting works. Tires are brand new 215/45-17’s fronts on 17x7”; rears are 235/45-17’s on 17x8” wheels. I encourage anyone who is interested to please call me at 951-551-6181 with any questions.
