Vehicle Detail

~~oo00oo~~ ~~oo00oo~~ Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow 1967 A timeless & elegant classic – An older restoration still looking very smart. This first of the Silver Shadow series is finished in Pewter grey with Dove grey Connolly hide interior. The body work is highlighted with hand-painted contrasting charcoal fine pin-striping to the waist-line and hub-cap beauty rings. This car is the result of an earlier restoration of considerable proportions. Owned by a fussy collector, the car was restored some 15 years ago at a cost of in excess of $30,000 to concours standards. As part of the restoration, the car was stripped to bare metal, chrome off and all windows out. The repaint alone, in its original colours, was in excess of $10,000 in the mid 90s. All bright-work was then polished (and re-chromed where required) and the car reassembled with new body rubber seals and gaskets as required. All the door jams are clean and crisp. The fine-lines were re-applied using the traditional hand-painted method. It still presents lovely today with only the typical small blemishes you would expect over time with minimal use; the odd paint chip, minor imperfections and little scratches but no dings or dents. The paint is very shiny and presents great. The interior is very lovely. The leather appears to be original and was recently re-Connollised. The headliner, dash, and rear parcel shelf are in excellent original condition and the carpets appear to be relatively new. Park-Ward recently had the trunk carpet redone because it was starting to show light wear. All the wood inside the car was also professionally redone at the time of the earlier restoration. It is in keeping with factory Rolls-Royce standards with a smooth and consistent gloss finish. The light African burl walnut is beautiful and really "pops" in contrast to the Dove grey leather. The rear picnic tables bring a wonderful surprise when opened through the use of fine light-stained mahagony in a "mirror-matching" inlay on the usable surface. This was all factory fitment, of course. All features and functions are operational with air conditioning, heating, windows and seats operating properly. Even the clock ticks away silently. As you would expect from a car of fine standards, every light bulb, down to the most insignificant in the dash, work as they should. You will also see that all screws and fasteners on the vehicle are “set” to factory standards. The only non-original feature is the radio which was replaced with a 90's radio/CD unit. The installation was installed without compromise to the car's originality so could easily be changed out again. I would recommend doing so (and this can be arranged if desired) but I thought that decision best be left to the purchaser. Also, in my personal design opinion I think the car would like quite smart in the very traditional 2-tone scheme of Pewter over Tudor grey. Have a look at the photo links where I have included 2 photos which show the colour theme I am suggesting. (Should you have an interest in having this done, Park-Ward can provide the service. Please enquire.) Mechanically, this Silver Shadow is complete with good hydraulics and brakes and a smooth operating engine. It has been fully work-shop tested so everything is in top shape. I drove her on a 100 mile cruise this summer and she performed effortlessly. The 32,000 miles are not verifiable although the smooth operation of all the mechanicals and the overall condition of the car is consistent with a low mileage example. Tyres are in good condition and the car comes with its original operating manual and correct jack & tools. ~~ The release of the Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow in 1966 took the motoring world by storm and left even the most renowned luxury car manufacturers with dropped jaws and consumers in awe. It was to be the single most successful model ever to be produced by Rolls-Royce Motors. This one is a beautiful example and provides as an excellent all-round 8.5 out of 10 collectable. Remember, it was a concours 10-out-of-10 car 15 years ago! It is not a show car today but make no mistake, she is very nice and certainly at a standard for you to take as-is to your next Rolls-Royce & Bentley meet with confidence and great pride. ~~ Many more photographs are available at the following link. I highly recommended you view these to best ascertain the fine condition of this gorgeous example: Click HERE to see 100s of additional photos! ~~The Silver Shadow, in particular the early 1966 to 1968 model years, represent the dawn of a whole new model for Rolls-Royce with the then revolutionary monocoque body design. These early cars were the result of design and engineering over many years without the modifications that crept in over subsequent years to accommodate international safety design rules and requirements. The expansive wood dash-board, full chrome interior door handles and seat design were without the limitations set by emerging standards – most prominent in the US. This enabled the elegance of a plethora of burl walnut and chrome accents that exquisitely distinguished the “new” Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow and presenting the cars as they were intended – not as they “needed” to become.~~ ~~oo00oo~~ Click HERE to see 100s of additional photos! ~~oo00oo~~ This Rolls-Royce is part of a private collection. I am not a broker or retail car dealer; I am a professional car collector of some 30 years with considerable experience and knowledge of Rolls-Royce and Bentley Motor Cars. I have a long standing reputation being associated with the marque which I take seriously. I take a lot of pride in my cars and have fun in collecting and restoring them. However, auctions are not a game so when you place a bid or offer, and you are the winning bidder, please understand you have entered a binding contract. You cannot bid and win the auction and expect not to meet the terms and conditions. Bidding and/or winning does not mean you are expecting me to “hold” the car until you have the opportunity to inspect it. Any inspection contemplated should be undertaken BEFORE you bid or make an offer and I openly welcome any potential buyer to come and personally inspect the car. Once you bid or make an offer, you are doing so to buy WITHOUT conditions. A $2000.00 deposit (non-refundable) is required within 24 hours of the close of the auction and payable by PayPal. The balance of funds are required within 7 days of the close of the auction and must be provided by cashier’s check or bank wire. I cannot accept PayPal for the balance unless you are willing to meet the cost of transfer fees. Full payment must be made (and payments cleared) before the title and/or the vehicle is released. All payments are non-refundable. Payments as described above form an important part of this purchase contract and so, if all the funds are not received as outlined above, I reserve the right to terminate the transaction without notice. If there has been any deposit or other part payments received and I elect to terminate the contract, I reserve the right to keep any such deposits or payments and resell the vehicle to another bidder or interested party or re-list the vehicle at any time. I am happy to assist with shipping arrangements on a national and worldwide basis but the winning bidder takes full responsibility for pickup and/or shipping and at his cost. As a collector and experienced restorer of the marque, I make every effort to bring my cars to a very high standard. Unless specifically stated, the car is not of show standard but of good quality "driver" condition. Please understand, the very nature of these classic Rolls-Royces is such that it is not always possible to attend to every single item, or perhaps I may have inadvertently overlooked an item. Please note, fitted radio/stereo systems are usually subject to upgrade by purchasers so I do not ensure operation of these. Similarly, cruise control systems fitted to these classics were of an inferior design and I do not check or warrant the operation of these. Further, a feature or function that is working perfectly one moment, may decide to play-up the next. After all, it is some 44 years old. For this reason it is necessary for the following condition: The vehicle is being sold "as-is/where-is" with no warranty expressed, written or implied. Any descriptions or representations are made with reasonable judgment and all efforts are made to ensure fair assessment and accuracy but they are for descriptive and identification purposes only and are not to be construed as a warranty of any type. The seller shall not be responsible for errors in description, authenticity, genuineness, or defects herein and makes no warranty in connection therewith. No allowance or set aside will be made on account of any incorrectness, unforeseen imperfection, defect or damage. It is the responsibility of the buyer to have satisfied himself as to the condition and value and to bid based upon that judgment solely. The seller shall and will make every reasonable effort to disclose any known defects at the buyer’s request prior to the close of the auction. Seller assumes no responsibility for any repairs regardless of any oral statements about the vehicle. Being a classic car in excess of 10 years of age, in most US states, the mileage may be recorded as “exempt”. In this regard the seller makes no warranties as to the accuracy of the mileage indicated or shown. I can hold the vehicle up to 30 days while you arrange shipping but you must immediately insure it. I will not bear any responsibility for any additional costs including storage, transportation, or repair after the close of the auction. Whereas I am happy to store the car in excess of 30 days from auction end, a cost of $35 per day shall apply beyond 30 days of auction end. Also, you must remember that this is a classic +/-44 year old vehicle, and while it is up to you, I do not recommend that you just “hop in and drive it across the country”. At least, I have never done that. I have always professionally transported the cars in enclosed carriers from where I bought them to my home. PLEASE; IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO ABIDE BY THESE TERMS, DO NOT BID AS, RESPECTFULLY, THERE CAN BE NO EXCEPTIONS. ~~oo00oo~~ ~~ **Please note: This Rolls-Royce is part of the collection of the Park-Ward Motor Museum. As a professional collector and experienced restorer and I have my own Rolls-Royce dedicated workshop with qualified craftsmen on hand. As a passionate collector of the marque I take great pride and pleasure in passing on any of my cars to its next owner (“caretaker”). In so doing, once this Rolls-Royce is sold, I will put the car back thru my workshop to ensure that it is mechanically sound and all major features and functions are operating as described even though the car is contractually being sold "as-is". Certain items such as final electrical tests and hydraulic pressure checks are usually left for this stage as these are considered "commissioning procedures". This and considerable other work will be performed after the sale and before delivery to ensure the car is in excellent order. This all done at NO CHARGE. Who else selling a Rolls-Royce on eBay does this?! This provides the buyer the peace of mind to purchase with complete confidence. Depending on our work load, please allow approximately 7-10 business for this procedure.
