Classic 1967 Volkswagen Beetle The 1967 Volkswagen Beetle is a prized year to own as it is the first year of the 12 Volt Volkswagen and the last year of the “Type I” body style. The Volkswagen Type 1, widely known as the Volkswagen Beetle and Volkswagen Bug, is an economy car produced by the German auto maker Volkswagen (VW) from 1938 until 2003. With over 21 million manufactured in an air-cooled, rear-engined, rear-wheel drive configuration, the Beetle is the longest-running and most-manufactured automobile of a single design platform anywhere in the world. The 1967 model had the larger 1500cc engine and it was the last year before the padded dash. This is a car that has lived its entire life in California and is virtually rust free and accident free. It was the last year for this style chrome bumper and the low-back seats. All routine maintenance and upkeep has been done on this car.
