Vehicle Detail

2002 Subaru Impreza WRX Wagon Let me start out by saying, this car NEEDS WORK TO BE DRIVE-ABLE. I bought this car 2 months ago, just wanting to upgrade from my older car, but it ended in a stroke of misfortune. The day I went to look at it, everything was great. The body looks great, good looking paint, super CLEAN interior, and COLD blowing A/C. The transmission shifted smoothly and the clutch was nice and firm. Everything that I looked at worked fine other than a miss that it had at idle. I called my mechanic and they said it sounded like it had a vacuum leak. So I didn't let that bother me as I was told it was a cheap fix. The price was right, the car drove great, and I thought I had made a good decision. It was a 4 hour drive where I had gone to get the car, which mean't a 4 hour drive back, which was great. The factory 6-disc changer and factory sub-woofer played great. So I was fine with that, UNTIL, 1.5 hours into the trip home, I noticed the car didn't have any power. I was 5 under the speed limit, just cruising at 65 in 5th gear, but I couldn't accelerate. So I pulled over, as I was turning, I realized that I didn't have power steering either. After I pulled over, I realized that the engine had died. It never made a sound, no clank, no pop, no anything. It was like it was out of gas (I had just filled it up). I tried a couple of times to start it back up and ended up being forced to leave it there. We came and picked it up the next day. I took it to my mechanic and he pulled the timing cover and low and behold, the timing belt had broken. Just my luck. I sat around for a few weeks and continued driving my old car while we looked for a new engine. I finally decided that I'd cut my losses and sell the car. I have been told that the motor "might be okay", but I wouldn't bet on it. I have looked at all of my options and I just don't want the headache of putting a motor in this car. On top of that, I just sold my old car and I need something to drive, but can't buy anything else until this one is gone. My loss is your gain. Someone that has the tools or equipment could buy a brand new motor and put it in themselves and get a steal of a deal. The rest of the car is REALLY clean. UPDATE: eBay removed the first listing because AutoCheck claims that the car has a Salvaged TN Title. This is not true. It DOES have a clear Texas Title, but because of eBay Policy, I had to change the listing to "rebuilt, rebuild-able, & reconstructed" Here's everything that I know about the car myself: 2002 Subaru WRX Wagon Turbocharged/IntercooledKnown Mods: Full aftermarket exhaustPaint matched fiberglass hoodClear turn signals Factory equipment: 6 - Disc CD Changer with powered sub-woofer under the passenger seatAll - Power (Windows, Locks)Key-less entry with alarm (key-fob missing, but you can buy a new one on eBay for around $35)16" Wheels with good treadFactory spare is thereMomo Steering WheelLeather Shift KnobFog Lights (they are behind the black covers) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I used AutoCheck when I first bought the car, there was a previous accident and I asked the previous ownerabout it. He was seemingly un-aware of the accident. I checked the car out and there was some damageunder the hood on the passenger side but it didn't appear to have damaged the suspensaion or steering, none of the tires were wore un-evenly nor was there any problems driving in a straight line (no pull to either side). It appeared as though it had been mostly repaired by a body shop and explained why it had a good paint job on it.The car is not perfect though, there are still some little dings here and there. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Again this car is going to need a lot of work. You must assume that it will need the engine completely replaced before bidding. I have a loan on this car that will have to be paid off in order to get the title from the bank. I plan to pay the difference out of pocket. The reserve is set to where I can afford to do so (I have the cash in my bank account) So, as long as the reserve is met, there will be no problems getting the title free and clear. If you're a Subaru mechanic, you may know something I don't about these cars, so this could be a great opportunity to get in a clean car cheap. The reserve is set at about 1/3 of the value of the car. If you have ANY questions, feel free to message me. I'll answer them the best that I can. I'll also include a picture of the broken timing belt in the pictures for you to use as a reference before you bid. I don't want anyone to feel ripped off. Thanks for looking!
