Wake op the neighbors with this one! Your looking at a 1937 Dodge pickup truck that turns heads everywhere it goes! With it's low sinister look a rattle snake would have to watch it's head to slither under this machine. The pickup has a 3 inch chop and a 4 inch channel, and under the hood is a 440 V8 that purrs like a dragon. A 727 automatic transmission puts all of that power to the 1996 Corvette posi independent rear suspension. This pickup is cool, and I mean really cool. All the kids love it, and senior citizens despise and are afraid of it. Both powerful and lite, it's loud, obnoxious, and just plum dangerous looking, just like every ratrod tends to be. All of the lights work, and even the lone windshield wiper works. An electric fan helps keep things from overheating under the hood. Tilt steering and seats from a gm. Here is the nitty gritty stuff:- Used 440 v8 that had about 44,000 miles on it. Same with the tranny.- Custom built frame with 2x4 inch square tubing and extra strengthening with gussets and reinforcing plates. Painted with POR-15.- 6 inch drop spring-behing front axle (suicide) kit from Speedway motors witch came with the brakes and calipers.- Mr. Roadster friction shocks on the front.- Corvette posi independent rear axle.- Dolphin 5 inch gauges- E-Z wiring harness- 11 gallon spun aluminum fuel tank.- Wheel Vintiques smoothie rims with baby moons.- Coker classic tires. (the white has sort of run into the black on the sidewalls from sitting for a quite a while over the winter).- Lakester header kit with the removable side caps.- Exhaust system complete with cherry bomb mufflers that give it a very throaty sound.- Vega steering box Ladies and gents, this is a mean looking machine and just sitting still it looks fast and angry. I do have to warn you that this ride is super low and you need to consider if you have any limitations in your driving area meaning if you live down a bumpy rutty dirt track road your going to do a lot of scraping with this vehicle, and any shipper must be warned ahead of time. It will bottom out. Also, the brakes need a larger booster for them to work properly. Speedway sells these so it isn't a big deal, but it needs to be done. Yes the brakes do work, but just not very well, and you will need to address this brake problem to make this pickup safer to drive in an urban environment. Right now you have to really apply excessive pressure to stop and remain stopped. Also, this vehicle has bias ply tires and it rides like it has bias ply tires and a suicide style front end. It gets a bit bouncy and could use some suspension tuning. The oak boards in the box of the pickup are in good shape, but do need to be refinished as the old finish is peeling. The strips that hold down the oak boards also are peeling. There is no side glass in the doors. No trim. No window mechanism. This vehicle sells "As Is". An example would be if the motor blows up or the transmission fails you, well, that is your problem and not mine. There are no guaranties and what you see is what you get.
