1970 Opel GT Classic! Here is a nice sample of this model that runs and drives. Does have a hit in the back and some flaws so please read below. Great original color combination of White Exterior with Red Interior. (reminds me of the Speed Racer Mach 5). Nice little GT that as you know, are getting harder and harder to find. I've owned about 5 of these (which reflects my Ebay ID name), and they are beautiful sports cars. This one recently had the Transmission mounts replace, a New Battery, some brake work, carb and tune up work. She starts right up and goes. Fairly quick for a 4 cylinder. Original 4 speed manual transmission shifts well through all gears. BODY:Body is ok to look at, but in need of some work for sure. Had a re-paint years back and side/rear emblems were left out. Also at that time some side black racing strips were painted on. Still has the original hood emblem in great condition. Does have some flaws, read below. All glass is intact, windows roll up and down fine, doors open and close fine and does hood lid. Headlights work and flip around fine. Brake lights, license plate lights and turn signals all work. Paint still has shine, but you can polish it if you want for more shine. Tires are a few years old and have lots of tread on them, original rims were repainted, have the beauty rings and center caps. Engine bay was power washed and detailed as well. Also, has a new exhaust system from mid-car to the rear (see undercarriage photo). Undercarriage overall is pretty rust free. Original chrome locking gas cap. Also has an after market rear plastic louvre. INTERIOR:Original interior in Red, with a darker Red carpet. All the vinyl was recently re-dyed with the exception of the posts and headliner. Although the top of the dash does have cracks, the black instrument panel is fine. Also come with a lower console wood inlay that was re-laqured. Shift boot is not original. Door panels are decent, but the tops of them do have some sun damage, as do the tops/sides of the bucket seats. Seats do not have any rips or tears. Seat tracks were oiled and work fine. Carpet is intact and only worn by driver's side. All gauges work except the clock. Has an older cassette stereo with one rear speaker that works. FLAWS:Exterior Flaws: Rust: Has the usual rust spots (about 3 or 4) in battery bay. Also has some tiny rust bubbles on driver's door top/bottom. nothing major. Also has a small hole on pas. side (trunk lid) below rear window corner; Biggest flaw of course is a back-up hit (not accident), on the pas. rear corner. This has pushed things in a bit and the rear bumpers out of line (see close up shot). Missing pas. side wiper arm; the windshield rubber gasket/moulding is in bad shape, and previous owner put some clear sealant around the edges (it really needs a new one), front glass itself is good except for a small chip; front driver fender has some body damage; front corner of driver's fender (below bumper) has a dent; tip of front bumper has a dent; front driver side bumperette rubber is loose; pas. side has some small dings; rear plastic louvre is attached but side locks don't work; body has numerous paint chips; Interior Flaws: dash has cracks (but covered with a form fitting carpet dash cover), and lower console also has som cracks; headliner has several cuts/rips and also one side edge needs re-glueing; driver side sunvisor is missing; could use some new weather stipping. horn not working. Comes with the original Owner's Manual, Spare tire and jack. Also, I'm throwing in the Shop Service Manual, Some OPEL ENTHUSIASTS CLUB mags/newletters, as well as an Opel Key Foder. And I did buy some straight rear chrome bumpers to replace the ones that are on the car ($200 cost), that I will throw in as well. Overall, this is a nice ride with that small car Ferrari feel to it. The New Opel GT's are around $60,000!!. These cars have a lot of room for customizing, a few years back I turned one into a "007" car complete with dual shooting machine guns (bb of course).
