Vehicle Detail

This is a very nice 1971 Honda Cb450. The bike starts, runs, and rides great. The bike has been refurbished a bit with new paint, but most parts are original to the bike. The carbs have been cleaned, the valves set, the timing set, the tank lined, and new air filters installed. She is ready to go. I have been working on and off on the bike since the winter and have decided its time for it to go. I have several other projects and I just cant keep them all. The bike rides out great. I sometimes forget how good these small twins ride. It is the perfect around town or back road cruiser. These are not interstate bikes. They will do it , but not really designed to run at todays speeds for extended periods of time. The exhaust is the original and in good shape. One muffler has been welded around where it meets the head pipe and the original clamp is gone. It in no way affects the performance of the exhaust. The tone of the bike is perfect. Sounds great! There are no major issues with the mechanics of the bike. It shifts and runs great. There is a small oil leak coming from the front inspection cover on the head. It leaks a little from the gasket. I would put some gasket sealer on it in the spring when you check the valves. It is really nothing major. the electric and kick starters work as they should as well. The tank and side covers have been professionally repainted and shine great. The color is a burnt orange or burnt sienna metallic color. Not exactly factory, but fits with the color tones of the older Hondas. The paint looks fantastic. The chrome on the fenders and wheels is really nice for its age. There are a few pits here and there but nothing major. The worst of the chrome is on the rear fender behind the tail light and I have tried to show it in the pictures. I always try to take plenty of pictures so that there are no surprises. you can also click on the pictures to go to my photobucket page and look at them in high resolution. The bike is a really a nice rider and with very little cleaning and polishing could look even better. All the electrical works as it should. I removed the blinkers for personal taste. The wiring is there and they can be put back on if so desired or if your state requires it. The rear blinkers are the factory ones and the front two are an aftermarket style. You could easily get two factory style replacements here on ebay if thats what you like. The tires are in decent shape and should last at least another season. The seat cover is the factory one and unfortunately it is starting to rip at the seam as seen in the pics. I decided not to replace it and leave that decision up to the new owner. The gauges all work fine and light up as they should. The faces are a little faded, as most older hondas are. The bike really is a nice bike and anyone should be proud to be seen riding it. Like any old bike she has her issues, but it really is a great little bike I know I have probably left something out so please ask if you have any questions. The bike is located in Murfreesboro, Tn . I will be happy to work with any shipper of your choice, but that is the buyers responsibility to find and arrange shipping. Payment is to be made in full within 5 days of the auctions end. I will accept cash or a cashiers check. There is a possibility that I may require the cashiers check to clear before I release the title or bike. Depending on your financial institution and if my bank requires it to be held. Please ask any questions before bidding. If you have a low number of feedback or have an account that has not been active in a while please contact me before bidding. I may cancel your bid if i do not hear from you. It is nothing personal, I just want to make sure you are a legitimate bidder. The bike is for sale locally and the auction may end early if the reserve is not met. Once the reserve is met the auction will run its course. So bid to win! Thanks and good luck.
