Vehicle Detail
Thanks for taking the time to check out my bike. What we have here is a 1984 Honda Gold Wing 1200 Interstate. The odometer reads just over 14k miles, but I am positive that this is inaccurate because the cluster is not original to the bike. The previous owner laid this bike down and wrecked the original faring and some of the other trim pieces there was NO FRAME DAMAGE and there are new forks on the bike. But this is why there is a salvage title. I have driven this bike for two seasons and have had zero problems with it mechanically. The only thing mechanically wrong with the bike is the front brake pins, which need to be replaced. Currently, the front brake will gradually engage, making the bike dog out at highway speeds after a while. I have continued to drive the bike with this issue and have had no problems, other than I have to release the brake with an 8 mm wrench from time to time. As long as you don't use the front brake much, this doesn't happen often. However, the pins really should be replaced before doing any serious riding. The seat has a couple of splits and pinholes in it, which I took pictures of. Also, as is common on these bikes, the top of the rear seat rest is showing some wear. The turn signals are not currently hooked up (I just use hand signals). The fuel door on the tank cover does not close properly. The only other thing wrong with the bike is that it is missing the left side kick plate, which I have also pictured. I have a complete (minus windshield) faring and gas tank cover as well as kick plates from another 84 Interstate, which is being sold with the bike at no additional charge. I have taken photos of these parts as well. The only thing I know of that's wrong with the spare parts is the cluster, which has a sizable crack in the plastic up front. I took a photo of that as well. I have had a lot of fun with this bike and the only reason I'm selling is that I am moving. This is a no reserve auction starting out well below what the bike is worth. Check out my feedback and bid with confidence. I have tried to describe the bike accurately, but I am not an expert. There is no warranty. Thank you again for your interest. Any questions can be sent through eBay or you can call me at 517-543-1252 at any decent hour. Bike is located just north of Charlotte, MI near Lansing. One other thing....I have been scammed in the past and will not tolerate it. If you don't intend to go through with a purchase, DON'T BID! If you have zero or negative feedback DON'T BID! If you are an honest person who wants a good bike at a good price BID LIKE CRAZY!On Aug-12-11 at 17:18:27 PDT, seller added the following information: I went through my files and found the title to this bike, in preparation for selling it and realized the TITLE IS CLEAR and NOT A SALVAGE TITLE. I have had a couple of these bikes over the years and was thinking about the previous one. So again this bike has a CLEAR MICHIGAN TITLE.On Aug-12-11 at 18:00:41 PDT, seller added the following information: Sorry, I forgot to mention that the tachometer doesn't work. I don't know if it needs to be replaced or just isn't hooked up, I never did anything with it. It's been like that since I've owned the bike. Once again, I'm sorry I forgot about that.
