Vehicle Detail
1994 Ford F350 Dually Crew cab. I have decided to sell my Ford dually since I purchased something a bit newer. I have been rebuilding this truck with the intention of keeping it for a long time. I joined the forums at www.thedieselstop.com only to find that there is a huge following for these 7.3 IDIT engines. I have posted over 700 threads about repairs on this truck as its all chronicled there. This is a nice truck that is mechanically ready for whatever you will throw at it. I am a mechanic by trade and this was my project. The truck runs strong and smooth, steers and tracks straight and brakes evenly to a stop. The truck is equipped with a C6 transmission with a Gear Vendors overdrive. This drivetrain replaces the E40D transmission the truck came with. I have coupled this to a new rear gear set. The truck runs with 3:73 rear axle gears and synthetic fluid. The mileage with this setup is approx. 14-15 mpg. There is alot of life in this engine at 118k. I will list everything I have done to the truck since I purchased it. When I got it there was 101k on the odometer. This was three years ago. There is now approx. 118k on the truck. Transmission was rebuilt complete by a reputable builder. It was built strong with a quality torque converter. I added an external filter system for the transmission located up near the inside of the front bumper. I replaced the gear vendors overdrive unit with a unit that had less than one thousand miles on it. I change the fluid in the unit every 5k as required. I replaced the rear main seal when I had the trans mission out. Replaced the front brake pads and now have about 75% remaining. Repacked front bearings and replaced inner seals. Replaced the RABS valve in the brake system and flushed all the fluid several times for a good pedal. Replaced the rear brake wheel cylinders, shoes and all springs. Turned the rear brake drums for a complete job. Replaced the rear wheel bearing seals. Bearings were ok. Replaced the idler pully and serpentine belt. Replaced the water pump. Replaced both batteries. Replaced the air filter a couple times and fuel filters a couple times. Has a rebuilt fuel injection pump and four of the eight injectors were replaced and the others tested. Replaced all 8 glow plugs. Replaced transmission vacuum control valve located on injection pump. Replaced engine speed sensor for tach operation. Checked compression. 425 – 450 in all cylinders. Had the oil sent out t0 black stone 3 different times to verify that engine is not wearing. Reports came back clear. I have reports to share. Removed engine oil cooler and replaced all the seals and gaskets. Installed brand new ring and pinion 3:73 gears and the rear end shop to dial in the correct ratio. Replaced the fuel tank bypass valve located near the fuel tanks for switching tanks. Replaced valve cover gaskets to stop leaking at the back of the engine. Replaced with upgraded rubber material. Sent radiator out for rod-out and installed special coolant additive for engine. Replaced exhaust pipe from the engine down pipe all the way back. Replaced all 7 tires. Replaced front twin I-beam bushings and checked complete front end for wear. Aligned front suspension after repairs. Replaced front torque rod bushings Replaced front shocks with KYB’s Changed oil every 3k or earlier. A/C blows very cold. No leaks from drivetrain. Steering feels good. Cruise control works but is disconnected. Can show you how to refit. Heavy duty class 5 hitch. Prodigy brake controller. 7 pin bargman trailer plug. Truck had 5th wheel hitch installed at one point. Holes are still present. Hitch is gone. Alcoa wheels complete with hubcaps. Replaced front grill, headlamps and one turnsignal light due to wear and fading. Installed two heavy duty transmission coolers. Sent out driveshaft to have all three u joints replaced and center support bushing and balanced. Installed relay to carry load for running lights including trailer to avoid headlamp switch failure. All lighting works including illuminated grab handles as part of the roll along package. Installed new sony stereo with single CD player, mp3 and Sirius ready. Radio has a remote. Four sony speakers 10 disc sony CD changer located behind rear seat. All carpets and seats were removed for cleaning. Headliner was recovered including upper console. Installed exhaust temperature guage. The truck has power windows in the front and crank windows in the rear. There are no power door locks but it is equipped with the feature. I just haven’t got to fixing this yet. All five windows have been tinted. There are more things to list but that gives you an idea of how mechanically sound this truck is. I use this truck as an everyday driver so I know what she can do. I took some pictures of the flaws. The paint is not perfect as someone repainted or reclear coated this truck at some point. If you get close you can point out the flaws. The front bumper has been dented but I removed it and straightened the best as I could. There is a tear in the front bumper strip. The right front fender has a small dent in the upper area. The right rear fender has been rubbed and scuffed. Some of the pin stripping is pealing. A few scratches in the tailgate bezel. This truck is a good candidate for repaint due to the mechanical condition but also looks fine and most people think it’s a beauty. I just want to make sure you know what you are bidding on since the pictures look so good. The truck seems to have all the original panels. Truck has been garaged since purchased. The interior has a few small cuts in the rear carpet and center console. Overall the seats are in great condition and very comfortable. There is working lumbar support in both front seats. I tried to get pictures of everything so you could see for yourself. There are no surprises with this truck and I wouldn’t hesitate to drive it across country. Feel free to ask questions or call me. You will have no regrets if you buy this truck. Thanks, Vinnie 707-974-7613On Aug-09-11 at 12:57:32 PDT, seller added the following information: I listed that the torque rod bushings were replaced. I think the actual terminology is radius arm bushings. All the front suspension was professionally checked and it was determined that the ball joints, tie rods, link rods were all ok. The main 4 bushings needed replacement and those were done recently along with an alignment. Front shocks were also replaced at that time. Truck tracks straight and tires wear evenly. On Aug-09-11 at 14:31:34 PDT, seller added the following information: When the waterpump was replaced I also replaced the fan clutch with new.On Aug-10-11 at 20:42:12 PDT, seller added the following information: Here is a link to all my pictures. 67 in total. http://www.flickr.com/photos/66250690@N04/sets/72157627406025116/
