What a treat! Smooth is the word for sure. Smooth powerful acceleration. Smooth handling in the curves or on the highway, too. Comfort, style, and versatility all in one gorgeous ride. I’ve always considered these cars constructed during the 80’s through the early 90’s as the last of the hand-built, truly high-quality Mercedes and have heard many others say the same thing! Take a look at my photos and I’m sure you’ll agree with me what a find this is. What you see is the result of a wash and vacuum only! “Time capsule” really is a great way to describe this car. The original tan upholstery is clean, sound and virtually unblemished (no breakdown of the seat springs either). No dash cracks and very decent interior wood trim. It’s obviously been allowed to spend a majority of its life garaged because the overall condition is superior to most any other thirty-year-old vehicle you’re going to come accross . Climb over, under and throughout and I know you’ll come up smiling! Rust? Please, this Benz hates rust and you won’t find ANYTHING to worry about here. Yes, our Puget Sound area is famous for rain, but our winter roads are never, ever salted. We only have one or two days of light snow each year. Everyone panics and stays home. Climb over, under and around this coupe, I’m convinced you’ll come up smiling!! Hop in and fire up the powerful V-8 engine and it starts immediately! The automatic transmission shifts fine. Having personally owned more than twenty Benz models over the years, I’ve developed a great appreciation for the Mercedes style, mechanical reliability and overall driving experience. THIS CAR RUNS AS SMOOTH AS SILK. I’VE NEVER DRIVEN A 126 MODEL OF ANY VARIANT THAT RUNS BETTER!! I’m convinced you’ll be proud to own and drive it. NOTE: I’m sure some will have questions about the seventeen digit VIN. This Mercedes was inspected by the Washington State Patrol when it was legally imported by the original owner many years ago (it is the same VIN the factory stamped on the firewall as well). The State Patrol and Importer tags are still riveted in place on the driver’s door post for identification. There are no title brands or title bonding associated with this vehicle. CONDITION: In total, this is an exceptionally clean, well cared for, smoke-free Mercedes. I take great pride in the vehicles we sell and feel that you should know as much about the car as possible. Accordingly here is a list of the good and also things needing attention: All the glass is in great shape. The car idles, runs and drives as it should – strong oil pressure, strong battery and charging system, no overheating, no brake pull or alignment issues! I’ve driven it everyday over the past week and freeway cruised at 75 MPH. As our un-retouched photos show, the paint is in very good overall condition and still holds an exceptional shine. Great chrome and exterior trim all around, too! The front fenders, doors, rear quarters and floorpans all look solid, in fact the entire undercarriage is in great condition for a 29 year-old car! About the only exterior defects I’ve found are a touched-up surface rust spot above the right rear wheel well opening and some body filler just behind the passengers door on the quarter panel. The factory wheels are all straight and true. They’re wrapped with Potenza radials appearing to have at least 85-90% tread remaining. Take another good look at the interior photos. The upholstery is all-original with the pictures giving a very accurate view of its condition. Often, you’ll find worn-through leather, sagging springs and disintegrating cushion material on vintage Mercedes seats. This is NOT the case here. Hop in and feel comfortable sitting on these firm cushions for hours! I think the carpets have always been protected with floor mats, and they’ll be included as well. The heater and A/C system both appear to work, but could use a refrigerant recharge. The dash gauges and exterior lights are all bright and true. You’ll definitely want to upgrade the stereo system because all I get is static from the vintage Panasonic deck pictured. We’re always very happy to work with any shipper you choose, but you’re also welcome to do what many of our previous buyers from as far away as Alaska, Arizona, the Midwest, Canada, Florida, New York and even the Mexican Baja have done – fly in here to Seattle (we’ll pick you up at Sea-Tac International just a few miles away) and then start a great summer road trip home the same day!
