Vehicle Detail
Here we have a 2010 Chevy Equinox LT that has 21,053 miles. its currently being driven everyday so the miles will go up alittle bit. This equinox was involved in light front end accident and all repairs have been made. One fender, hood, front bumper cover, headlight, hood, and cooling was replaced. i don't know anything about the accident, but i am 99.9% sure that it hit a deer because there was a ton of fur stuck around the front passenger side corner. i know this car was bought new in red wing minnesota and we bought it at auction here in minnesota as well.. there was NO FRAME DAMAGE and the the air bags did go off. however they were replaced with brand new air bags and reprogrammed by a local gm dealership. everything works just like brand new. a couple weeks ago we took this equinox to yellowstone and back and didn't have any problems. since the repairs were made in janurary, we have put about 3,000miles on it and there is no signs of any problems. there was no electrical damage, no damage to the motor or transmission. all parts that we replaced are 100% OEM. all paint looks perfect, no swirls, no orange peel, ect. it was painted at our local body shop. come today and drive this for yourself. Once you get this car inspected, it should come back as a prior salvage title/rebuilt in your home state. I can get it inspected here in Minnesota, but that wouldn't do you any good if you live out of state. If I do get it inspected here, and send the title into Minnesota, then its going to take about 3 months for the state of Minnesota to send me the prior salvage title back. I know for a fact that this car will pass a Minnesota state inspection with flying colors or your money back. Other state's might require something different, so please check before you bid. Salvage Title Info, Info below was pulled from Wikipedia about salvage titles. In the United States, a salvage title is a form of vehicle title branding, which notes that the vehicle has been severely damaged and/or deemed a total loss by an insurance company that paid a claim on it. The criteria for determining when a salvage title is issued differ considerably by state. In a minority of states, regulations require a salvage title for stolen vehicles but, in others, it is issued only for losses due to damage. Under some circumstances, a salvage title denotation may be removed or replaced with a Rebuilt Salvage designation and cars imported to, or exported from, the United States may be issued a clean title regardless of history. Because a salvage title can be issued to a vehicle with easy repairable problems or no damage whatsoever, the low cost of the salvaged motorcycle or car is appealing to some hobbyists and investors. Determination of Salvage Status, In general, a vehicle is deemed "salvage" when the insurer determines that the repair or replacement cost is in excess of approximately 75% of its market value at the time of the accident or theft. Thresholds range between 50% and 95% of the vehicle's value, while "total loss states" leave the specifics to the insurer.Upon paying the claim, the insurer may offer to return the vehicle to the owner as an insurance buy-back, in which case the owner is responsible for having the repairs made and having the car inspected by a State-designated facility. Depending on the state, this inspection may remove the salvage brand from the vehicle's title. The exact percentage of value that triggers the decision to total the vehicle is guided by applicable laws and regulations. The damage estimate is calculated at retail repair rates, which may be more than the cost of wholesale repair. Vehicles that are not bought back are auctioned as salvage to an auto recycler or a rebuilder and given a salvage title. Are All Salvage Titles Bad? No, They aren't. Thats just like saying all Clean Title cars are good. There are alot of salvage titles cars out there that have little to no damage due to theft recovery, or since insurance companies won't use aftermarket parts and need to use brand new factory parts. If those factory parts are on back order, they aren't going to wait weeks or months until they can get those parts again. So something as simple as damage to a 01-06 GMC Yukon Denali front impact bumper that costs $300 new, that totaled out about 100 trucks last year because of the GM bankruptcy that shut down the manufacturing of those bumpers. Thus no one could get that part so insurance companies just totaled them all out rather then to wait the 6 months to get a new bumper. Are All Clean Titles Cars Accident Free? No, Most of you have probly been in an accident at one point or another. If your accident was a deer hit, most of the time that is repairable. Your local body shop made the repairs and you were good to go. However no one will ever know and it wasn't marked on your title. It still may have been a great car after that, but just like salvage title cars, they can be great and hassle free for years after the repairs have been made. In another example, if you had a newer car, and you didn't have full coverage insurance and you drove your car into a local lake, ditch, hit a tree, another car, ect. You would have some damage that you might not have taken to a body shop and had the repairs done correctly. Thus passing on future possible issues to a new owner. The truth is, that you don't know what or where a car has been unless you bought it brand new. And as you know, buying brand new will cost you a lot more then buying used. So even if the worst case happens and you buy a salvage title car that you know has been in an accident, you know what you are buying and you are paying less for that. So even if something happens to the motor, transmission, battery, tires, ect. You saved thousands by buying a salvage title over buying a used car with a clear title and that savings will likely cover the cost of the repairs. The truth is any car either brand new, used, or salvage title can break down at any given time. We take pride in our cars and do our best to make our customers happy with their purchase. Our feedback is important to us and we will do our best to make sure you come back to buy from us again in the future. On Aug-09-11 at 19:20:30 PDT, seller added the following information: THIS VEHICLE IS LOCATED IN FARIBAULT MINNESOTA 55021
