Vehicle Detail
11,218 original miles. This is a numbers matching survivor bike, and does not appear to have been restored or disassembled except for the cleaning I did about ten years ago. I have owned this bike since ’03 and ride it occasionally. It is registered in Craig Vetter’s hurricane registry online. Tires and rubber bits are in good condition. The wheels are original and in great shape, the handlebars are original ( most are not), The front forks are the original extended type ( most are not), and the tank and air cleaners, Carbs, and shocks are original. The tires are correct for the year and make ( again most are not). The only mod is the addition of electronic ignition that still appears stock looking and is an absolute must to have anyway. The bike runs great, goes down the road beautifully, and handles fine. No alignment problems or bent frames to deal with. The only issue that I can see is the Kill switch on the handle bars will not kill the motor. Probably a symptom from addition of the electronic ignition. I never had the need to hunt down why, but it has to be a simple fix. I just use the key to shut it down. Horn and light work as new. If you know Brit bikes, you will know that it will leak a bit of oil, make some interesting noises from time to time, and have a personality all its own. It does have some nicks and dings here and there that should be apparent in the photos. For example a dent on the top right side of the top exhaust pipe and the lettering on the back of the seat is faded (see photos). This is a very clean bike overall for nearly 40 years old. I have thoroughly enjoyed owning this bike and have some new projects to take care of, so it is time that it should go to a new good home. Included with the sale is a copy of the Triumph Owners Handbook and the Triumph Replacement Parts List. I have the right to refuse to sell this to the wrong owner, and shipping is the buyer’s responsibility. I would prefer to have the buyer pick this bike up in person, but that may be impossible in some cases. Call for info.
