Item for sale is a 1977 Volkswagen Type II Campmobile. It is currently non-operational due to a crack in the crank case, but the engine is a fairly new after-market rebuild, and I still have the original block. The current engine has 7848 miles. The tires are in good condition, and one was recently replaced. There are no cracks in the glass, with the exception of one rock chip in the front windshield which has been repaired with epoxy. Cosmetically, the vehicle is in useable and restorable condition. Body has a few minor dents and there is one spot on the left rear corner that is rusted through, otherwise the body is sound. The interior upholstery is in need of some repair or replacement. The “Westfalia” camping package is intact and functional, except for the refrigerator which does not work. There are a few minor tears in the mosquito netting which can be easily repaired. This vehicle could be brought back to operational condition by rebuilding the engine on the original block, which should only require the basic rebuild kit (gaskets, bushings, etc.) Also, a little TLC will go a long way in terms of restoring the cosmetic appeal.
