Vehicle Detail
1966 Dodge Dart 270 Coupe VIN: LH21B69122991 Here’s just what you need for a little Saturday night action! We acquired this well-done Dart a short time ago from a long term owner and can now offer it to our great Ebay Customers. We’re not sure whether the engine is a 340, a 318 or a 360 but it’s very throaty and strong (it’s gotta be in the 275 HP range but, no, we’ve not had it on the dyno). Check out the photo of the old school Edelbrock intake manifold with a nice manually choked 750 CFM Holley carb. Those are real “Hooker” Competition Headers and they fit perfectly in the engine bay while letting the mill breath through the tuned Flowmaster-style dual exhaust (there’s nothing like the sound of a well-tuned MOPAR revving to 4 or 5K). Electronic ignition’s been added and the battery was moved to the trunk, lightening front end weight. Further weight reduction comes from the blacked-out fiberglass comp Hood. The hood scoop is fully functional and is contoured to fit the air cleaner on the underside as shown. I know you’ll appreciate the Hurst four speed floor shifter and strong clutch, too. Please take another look at the interior photos. It’s pretty obvious the former owner invested a fair amount of money in this rig – both front bucket seats, the rear bench, door panels, the headliner and even the rear packing self are upholstered in the same tweedy material and are in great condition. You’ll appreciate that he carpets have been updated and are also very nice as pictured. The exterior is as clean and straight as shown in the un-retouched pics although the paint color looks a bit more reddish in these shots than it actually is. Rust? Please, this Dart HATES rust and you won’t find anything here to worry about! Our Puget Sound climate is so mild that we rarely get any snow so our winter roads aren’t salted. Climb over, under and all around this rig and you’ll come up smiling! I really like the look of the color-matched wheels with those red line radials and the dog dish caps, they really complete the look of a sixties off-the-line street racer and this Dart fills the bill perfectly! Please contact Mark at BEST AUTO with any questions or to discuss an offer. My direct line is (206) 914-1173 or calls the office at (425) 482-6707 I’ll welcome any and all questions you might have prior to bidding and you’re also encouraged to stop by to check the car out if you’re in the greater Seattle area. We have no idea what the mileage is on this car as there is no odometer. In keeping with the street racer theme, there is no radio either. Please Note: WE will NEVER, EVER “shill” or falsely "bump-up" an auction (a violation of eBay rules and also Federal Law. Because of the amount of money involved in buying a vehicle, we require that Ebay members with a feedback history of five or fewer transactions call or email before placing a bid. If we don’t have this initial contact, your bid may be cancelled. A Few Additional Terms and Conditions: Please check the photos over closely and call with any questions BEFORE you place a bid! You’re encouraged to inspect the vehicle at our premises on weekdays, so send your representative early to be sure you don't miss this one. We reserve the right to cancel your bid if you have any negative feedback. DEALERS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME TO BID AS WELL! Additionally I reserve the right to end the auction early if the car is no longer for sale or an acceptable offer has been agreed to prior to the scheduled ending time. A nonrefundable $500 deposit is due within 48 hours of the auction’s end. Because of the high fees they charge, we accept PAYPAL for the deposit only. The balance is due by cash, certified funds or credit card within seven days unless prior arrangements have been made. Please remember you are bidding to buy and I fully expect the winning bidder to fulfill their Ebay contract! You’re not bidding to hold, inspect or then come test-drive the vehicle later (You’re more than welcome to do this before the auction ends). If you do decide to have the Dart shipped home, there are numerous transport companies to choose from. We ship vehicles regularly and I'd suggest that you get a transport bid from www.U-ship.com. Transporters will bid delivery of the car and you'll be able to choose who you want to use. The zip code for pick-up would be 98028 (Kenmore, WA). The tranporting of the vehicle and company chosen are the responsibility of the BUYER. We’re happy to store the Dart free of charge at our location for up to two weeks after the auction ends (providing full payment has been made). After this period storage will be $20 per day. We’re open for vehicle pickup everyday from 10PM to 6PM. The Buyer will be responsible for the licensing requirements in their state of residence. If you live here in Washington State we’ll need to collect the 9.8% sales tax, title preparation, transfer and registration fees (out-of-state buyers pay only a $50 Document fee). Because the car is advertised and for sale locally, we reserve the right to cancel this auction early if it’s no longer available for sale online. The State of Washington shall have exclusive jurisdiction over all disputes. Venue shall be exclusively in King County. The final contract signed between both buyer and seller shall be binding. The final signed contract and terms thereof shall govern the sale. All disputes arising out of or relating to this auction, any negotiations, the signed agreement, or to the breach, enforcement or interpretation thereof, shall be resolved by binding arbitration in Washington, in accordance with the terms contained in the final sale agreement and under the laws of the State of Washington. Whew! Don’t you just love legalese? On Aug-05-11 at 08:25:14 PDT, seller added the following information: An interesting thing happened yesterday. After seeing the listing, the fellow that put together this car called us from Florida with a little history on it. According to "Doc" the Dart was built from a very solid shell back in 2004 with a professionally done "ported and polished" 360 Stroker (bumped up to about 408) putting out about 375 HP. He said it has a hi-po 530 Irskine Cam and that Holley double pumper you see pictured is an 850 CFM with larger brass jets that he custom made in his shop. He even remembered the Hooker headers were internally coated. The HD clutch was mated to a Mopar A-833 four-speed and the rear pumpkin has 420 or 430 gearing - great for street racing off the line. "Launch it at 4K and you'll lift the all-stock front end of that little monster off the ground" were his exact words and I believe him!
