1980 Maico MC 250 MX THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION. Payment of balance due within 7 days. Please look at photos carefully. RIGHT SIDE TANK & SIDE PANEL DECALS ARE INCLUDED but not shown in photos. Frame & engine numbers are correct and/or matching. This bike is unrestored and all original. Not a show bike but pretty dang nice nonetheless. This is a good looking racer. Runs excellent. Original forks and Corte Cosso shocks don't leak, and still have excellent dampening! Both tires and tubes are BRAND NEW. Original tank, side panels, and front number plate are beginning to oxidize. I'm pretty sure front & rear fenders are vintage reproduction. Seat cover is original but will need replacement. I would say this bike is about 99% original. These 1980 models are quite rare and actually work very well. Danny Magoo Chandler just loved them and they've received a bad 'rap' due to their banana frames, but the reality is is that they are great handling, fast bikes. If you've been looking for a nice rust free '80 model Maico for a resto project or to add to your collection, you will probably never find one as original or complete as this one. The original manufacturers didn't warranty them when they were new, so neither will I. Every used vintage dirt racing motorcycle, whether it has been restored or not, will ALWAYS need SOMETHING adjusted, tweaked, modified, replaced, repaired by YOU before you ride or race it. Since no bike is perfect, please be reasonable and understand this before bidding. Mileage is unknown therefore I am just guessing as to accuracy. Rare & trick magnesium front brake backing plate. Very rare & trick vintage Answer aluminum silencer built specifically for this model, and it's in excellent condition too. Magura controls and Magura side pull throttle are in great shape. Sidewinder self cleaning rear sprocket looks almost new. Looks like original Maico bars but I'm not sure. They're straight with no bends. Two dings in original pipe--see photos. Vintage Scott grips. If anyone needs more photos of specific areas, please let me know and I'll post here for all to see.
