Up for sell a 1981 Volkswagen Rabbit Diesel (L) model. This a true southern car bought new in my home state of South Carolina so in my opinion its 90% rust free.The car has the sweet little 1.6 non turbo diesel & a 4 speed manual trans. Gets a 45 MPG around town. I'm going to describe this car to the best of my knowledge so not to leave anything out. I bought this car a few months ago for a project/ MPG saver. The car runs great & I wouldn't be scared to drive it anywhere.My girlfriend says its ugly & truth is I feel a little cramped in it so it has to go! Here is a list of things that work; Motor cranks right up & can be drove anywhere, trans is good, new radiator, AC works great!!!,radio works, interior light , new wipers, mirrors still adjust with the little handles, locks, & all original VW/Audi glass. Here is a list of the not so great things all easy fixers; small oil leak leaves a quarter ( 25 cent piece) sized oil drop when parked over night no big deal for a diesel, back passenger side door wont open from the outside (only opens from the inside) handle is still there just needs some TLC, plastic hood latch handle is broke still usable but needs replacing. It is missing one of the small back up light covers ( pictured). Drivers seat has tears, headliner has some small tears, sunvisors have tears.The biggest problem with the car is , when I bought it the reason it had been parked was because the speedometer cable had broken meaning the miles are a little off. I do believe this is the original motor & has never been rebuilt. The white paint is faded a little but not to bad & the body is perfect minus a few small dings. The car also includes 80% tires ,radio works, a hitch with an 1 7/8 ba;; although I'm not real sure what it would pull with such a little motor :). INCLUDED WITH THE CAR IS THE ORIGINAL OWNERS MANUAL, SERVICE / WARRANTY MANUAL, , DEALER STICKER OFF THE WINDOWN, RADIO MANUAL, & SEVERAL SERVICE RECORDS FROM THE PAST 30 YEARS!
