1979 VOLKSWAGON CAMPER BUS This privately owned well cared for 1979 VW Champagne Edition Westfalia is a very unique find. This model is the most sought after, the most valuable, and the most rare model among the later model Volkswagen line-up. Newly rebuilt engine and transmission and brakes. Being a vintage Porsche collector, this vehicle has many extra unique items. Powered by a 2.0 liter (2000cc) type4 engine, this bus runs beautifully, with a lot of power... enough to cruise at 75mpg on the freeway all day long. Every mechanical item on this bus has been serviced within the last few years. The paint is one year new. The original colors were white over brown - a Champagne Edition only combination. The body is straight and rust free. Spare tire is new. The canvas top is original to the bus, as well as the paint on the fiberglass top. The canvas top is like new. Interior is very original. The brown dashboard, brown steering wheel, and brown mats are items only found on the Champagne Edition buses. All cabinetry is original to the bus, and includes the small table that mounts on the dash, as well as the folding table that mounts in the rear passenger area. Rear seat folds into a bed for sleeping for 2, up top is sleeping for 2, and there is a childs cot that mounts above the front seats for sleeping for 1 child. There are RV hookups for water and electricity. The passenger front seat swivels 360 degrees.
