The BMW M3 came out in 1986 based on the popular 3 series as a high performance model by the BMW M GmbH group. In 1995-1999, BMW produced the second generation of M3 based on the E36 chassis. From 1996 until the last of the E36 M3s in 1999, the 3.0 liter motor was upgraded to a 3.2 Inline 6 cylinder still producing 240 horsepower but increasing the torque to 236 lb-ft. This newer motors not only produces more power, but has better reliability. Legendary handling is balanced, predictable and safe with the automatic traction control. The brakes are firm and powerful and the ride is smooth and quiet for a performance car. Gas mileage is excellent- rated for 17-MPG City and 26-MPG Highway as per the government's updated fuel economy ratings at www.fueleconomy.gov. And it realistically gets near 30 on the highway- very respectable gas mileage for a performance car. Overall, these are beautiful, fast, well built vehicles which when driven put a smile on the face of anyone. They continue to be recognized as great collector vehicles, or daily drivers. This M3This Cosmosschwarz Metallic (metallic black) M3 is also finished with a black leather interior, which is in very nice condition. The car comes equipped with dual front airbags, and an aftermarket CD player. This M3 has 168k miles (11,200/year lower than the 15k per year national average). These miles are very realistic for a pre-loved quality BMW. As is shown in the pictures, there are two places on the body with blemishes. The driver’s side front corner, and just in front of the passenger side rear wheel. These are easily overlooked, or could be repaired. The rest of the exterior is in remarkable condition and the car is very straight. Just professionally detailed, this lovely BMW is ready for a new owner. Despite outstanding performance from the factory, this M3 has a couple of tasteful modifications including a DINAN cold air intake system, four new z-rated tires, Koni adjustable shocks, DINAN strut tower brace, DINAN exhaust, Zimmerman cross drilled rotors and performance pads on all four wheels, and a true Xenon headlight conversion. It also feels like a new upgraded clutch as it feels stronger than most M3s I’ve driven. These modifications take what is already extraordinary and make it even better! Disclosure: We are currently working to figure out two issues with the car. The AC is working but is not blowing out of the vents. Also, the check engine light is on, and we are looking into that as well. Both of these issues will be fixed for the new owner. The last issue would be that the windshield has about a six-inch crack. It is behind the mirror, so not noticeable while driving. However we disclose this because some state’s safety regulations require no cracks, while others only require no cracks in the line of vision of the driver. These are the only known issues with the car, and it is our policy to be honest and forthright with information so our customers can make informed decisions. You will not be disappointed with this vehicle. Some cars after you buy them you find more and more things wrong and get discouraged. This car is the opposite; the more you drive it and use it the more you enjoy it! I personally have been using the car for the past week as a “commuter” vehicle on my 45 min. per way drive to and from our dealership. This car always impresses me with incredible performance, predictable handling, and a very comfortable ride. I can honestly say I’ll miss this M3 when we sell it!
