Vehicle Detail
This car is a 1972 Volkswagen superbeetle that has been "mostly restored". The car was very rusty when I purchased it 6 years ago. Over the past 3 years the following parts have been installed: new 2110cc engine with dual 44 weber carbs that have been jetted for the engine, new trans, urethane trans mounts, upgraded carb linkage, electronic fuel pump, electronic ignition, new complete wiring harness, headlights, turn signal switch, ignition switch, headlight switch, fuel sending unit, front and rear turn signal assy's, front wheel bearings, all wheel cyl's, master cyl, steering box, struts, shocks, floor pans (complete), front firewall, rear cross members, frame head, complete heater channels, front and rear quater panels, all new fenders, body to pan gasket, all window rubber, carpet, scat pro90 seats, headiner (we didn't do a great job on the install), wheels and tires from mid america in effingham (less than 50 miles on them), battery, tie rods, steering stabilizer, ball joints, por on all new metal put on the car (coated heavily underneath), the list goes on and on. I have new running boards, vent window rubber, door scrapers and various other new parts that I never got around to installing. The car was hit in the front driver fender over a year ago. All new front end parts were installed after the incident and the car was put on the alignment rack. Tracks straight down the road. The car is very solid and has quite a lot of power. I think it will need a starter soon as it seems to be getting slow to engage. May be from sitting for the past year. The car was painted around 4 years ago and is not great, however rust on the car is not an issue. All of the hard work has been completed. This would make a great car for someone looking to give it minor body work and new paint. My brother and I started this project, however he passed away April 9th of this year. I no longer have the desire to work on it. I have put over 12,000 into this car and will be starting it out at 0 reserve. Good luck bidding. I really don't have the time to upload any more pics. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. Don't want to see it go, but it's time. (Body was taken off of the pan when the metal work was completed. It is a tight car with no rattles as all of the body bolts were also replaced)- 618-508-5717 with questions - ask for Josh. I would prefer to have vehicle paid for in cash. I will make sure it is ready for a long trip if you decide to put it to the test after purchasing.
