Vehicle Detail

1966 PONTIAC CATALINA 2 DOOR COUPE, Here’s the story on this car. This car was originally listed as a 2+2, it has the 2+2 emblems on the front hood, trunk and both rear quarter panels. However, I was informed by two different gentlemen that requested the vin number that the car was in fact a catalina. So, I ended that auction and I am relisting the car as a Catalina. The man that I bought the car from had rented a garage to someone, who stored this car for a number of years. He failed to pay the rent, and I have not been able to locate him. The garage owner obtained a court judgment for the back rent and sold me the car. I do not have a title for this vehicle, it is being sold with a bill of sale. Most importantly, it should be noted that this car does not have a motor or transmission. However, it has a solid body, (it has a 1986 Texas state inspection sticker on it.) The cowl data plate is missing. However, the body tag on the door post is still there with the vin number. The body has solid rocker panels, doors and fenders. However, there is some rust thru around the bottom of the rear window. Both front and rear bumpers are solid (Ding in the front tip of front bumper. The interior needs redone. Looks like some moisture got in. However, the vinyl seats are intact and look like they would clean up. Front windshield is cracked, rest of glass is good. I have no keys for this car and the trunk is locked (someone popped the lock, probably to get into the trunk). This car needs completely restored. Great muscle car restoration project or good solid parts car (remember, there is no motor or transmission.) There are some hubcaps, miscellaneous small parts along with the air cleaner cover in the back seat. Probably other parts are in the trunk. But, I don’t know for sure since I can’t get into it. Any questions or if you want to see the car in the flesh, contact me. No shipping, you have to made your own arrangements to pick it up. On Jul-25-11 at 07:32:31 PDT, seller added the following information: Sorry for the delay, I was busy over the weekend and could not get this information up then. Here are some additional photos of the car, with the advice of one of the viewers, I figured out how to open the trunk and did, We have both fender skirts in the same shape as the one in the picture, nice and solid. we have two extra hubcaps, I don't know if these are original, but, they are in the deal, The cross member that probably held the motor up is in the trunk, the trunk floor looks solid. I could not get under the car to take frame photos, the car sits low to the ground. Here are the photos I took, if there is anymore information you need, contact me.
