1998 Ford Windstar- buy it for a penny! SEVEN DAY AUCTION!!!! Bid early, bid often BUT ONLY IF YOU HAVE THE MONEY!!!!!!! That's right! This Windstar must be out of my driveway in seven short days. If you're the first bidder and you pay the "Buy It Now Price" of $2,400.00 and you pay for it with PayPal, I will drive up to 500 miles to deliver it to your door. Bidding starts at a penny. And in seven short days the highest bidder wins this phenomenal automobile. I bought this car used in February, 2000, with a little under 17,000 miles on it. Consumer Reports recommended against that saying it had transmission problems. I bought it anyway for about $16,000.00 and then purchased an extended 75,000 mile warranty. The transmission failed and was rebuilt at 39,000 miles. And then it failed again at 69,000 miles and this time Ford put a new transmission in the vehicle. At about 150,000 miles, the radiator hose blew out and the engine seized. So, I had the engine replaced- the mechanic neglected to find out how many miles the replacement engine had on it. But it has run perfectly the past 15,000 miles, so it appears to be a very sound engine. About 5,000 miles ago, the rear end rusted through and collapsed. I had that repaired and the car now runs perfectly. I gave it to my son so he would have a cheap, reliable ride. But, because he did not have his license then, the car is uninsured and does not have plates. And, because he still does not have a license (nine months later), I am now disposing of this venerable automobile. It has been sitting for nine months. So the battery had to be re-charged. But after that it started right up and still runs really, really well. The tank is about half full. The A/C needs to be charged but was working when last used. It needs to be inspected. The rear windshield wiper does not work and it has minor body damage- as shown in the photos. It is a New York car. But it is in very good shape and you could drive it anywhere. The tires are in good condition. The radio has been stolen three times but the current one has been in there for the past several years and works great. It is a CD radio with a removable face- though I have never removed the removable face. The dash is loose around the radio- because of repeated break ins but it is hardly noticeable. It has ugly black, indestructable rubber mats. They are not in the car now- but they will be included- if you want them- my kids would not let me put them in the van. The downside is, until you get it plated and insured, you can only drive back in forth in my driveway- a rather long driveway but you are not going to cruise around in it. You can drive backward for about 40 yards and then you can put it in drive go forward for 40 yards. Hence the short auction. I have four additional cars that are now sucking wind until this Windstar is gone. So- no test drives. You'll just have to take my word for it. This car is sold AS-IS. It runs well now- but once you have it out of the driveway- you own it- it is yours. There is absolutely no warranty or guarantee of any kind. Regarding the bidding process...
